I think Wilson has the potential to do likewise but perhaps a few outings in the cups this year (Europa / Carling / FA) and we will see more of him next year. I have also been really impressed by Kelly so far and hope more young uns have the ability to make the step up. I was less impressed by Insua getting punted out the door after only one season in the first team... Same as happened to Warnock...

Shelvey - no idea - big rep, but I haven't really seen him play.

I guess wilson found out whether he has what it takes to make it at the club.

i hope to see shelvey and wilson given some game time in the carling cup/fa cup/europa leagues - a chance to get some experience this season - the same goes for kelly and pacheco who seem to be a bit ahead in their development.

If one of those 4 pushes through and makes say 15-20 first team appearences, then that for me would be a big plus - if two of them do it even better

for me - i'd be quite pleased if we saw something like this from the four this season

Pacheco and Kelly - 15-20 appearences, mainly the cups but 5+ league appearences

Shelvery and Wilson - up to 10 appearences -mostly cup games, but maybe one or two league appearences as subs late on.

thats what those players and the club should be looking to get this season - and then next, a little bit more etc
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Wilson and Shelvey are in no rush. Move to a big club like LFC and you have to accept that game time will be limited as you have established internationals in front of you.

This club is all about winning games, not giving youngsters a chance. Obviously if the kids are good enough to be in a winning team they will get games and will do so in the League Cup and against the easier teams in the Europa and FA Cup.

How they perform in those competitions will determin if they can be relied upon for the League. The balls in their court so to speak.
          Forwards.......

How many balls do they have in their court?

Although Suso has rightly taken all the plaudits for the reserves/youth, I have been extremely impressed with Ngoo. He has been excellent every time I have seen him this year (albeit I only see highlights) and seems to be scoring for fun. Last year when watching him I really thought he was just bought to provide some competition for places in the Academy without any real hope that he’d make it near senior level, but it’s obvious now what the scouts seen in him.

He’s big, strong, deceivingly quick, comfortable on the ball and got a decent strike. It will be interesting to see how he develops as a player over the next couple of years.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah Ngoo seems a bit like Crouch but with a lot more pace and a bit more upper body strength. He is very impressive. I just wonder is he looking a lot better than he is cos he's a giant amongst kids. But yeah he's another one whose development will be fascinating to watch.

I would throw Shelvey straight in at the deep end personally, he strikes me as the type who would immediately struggle but would very quickly rise to (and thrive on) the challenge

By deep end I mean starting in Carling Cup games btw FA Cup sub
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

                            Couple of good goals.

From the highlights Shelvey he showed good touch, skill and a couple of clever passes. He was also getting in the box which is a good sign.

Love the fact that Noel Blake managed to get in 'good feet for a big lad' when talking about Ngoo

Shelvey will be a first team regular before the season ends.

We've got quite a few lads playing through the age groups for England haven't we - Wisdom, Robinson, Coady, Kelly (probably others) as well as these 2.

Not bad considering we 'flooded our youth system with foreigners'
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
