torres had 2 good chances to score but fluffed both and ste had a drive well saved - thats 3 chances off top of my head.

All right.. Let me correct myself as I wasn't clear. We didn't have a single great scoring chance all game long. None of them were as good (Nando's chances were more half chances and Stevie's shot was comfortably saved) as Brums' chances and for the team of our aspirations (I suppose we all would like us to compete for top 4) it was pathetic and unproductive.

I don't know if you were at the game Nige but watching on tele there were times when Meireles seemed to be playing in CM with Gerrard more advanced. It may have been short-lived though and I realise that conflicts with what the boring man on the tele said.

Perhaps someone at the game could enlighten me please.

To me, it looked like Meireles was put in the 'hole' position, advance of Gerrard, who seemed to drop back alongside Poulsen, but with licence to push forward when he could.

It was only a little more than 10 minutes though, so it probably isnt enough to draw conclusions on, as of yet.

a draw against a side who have lost only 2 games in 13 months against villa and bolton at home is a good result.

My worry doesnt come from the result - it comes from the feeling that, as i could see it, a draw is what we set our stall out for. It was them who looked to win the game, not us.
