Yes, Roy hasn't been financially backed but in the 8 competitive games inc. UEFA we've been poor and have better players than the team performance produces. That's not good enough.

I've not seen anything from Roy to suggest it'll improve and I for one wouldn't give him a penny until he gets more out of his present team first. He needs to earn his cheque book.

The manager motivates and picks the team/tactics/subs etc... and so far Roy has under produced hence my thread.

I like the guy as a person, he's just not good enough. Same goes for Johnson, Kuyt, Jovanovic and Babel who add nothing to our team except misery and mistakes. Kuyt does add hard work but that means jack if you don't score, don't assist, can't beat a man and have no first touch.

Also, for all you people who slate our current owners, the club would haven't been where it is if "market stall business equivalent", David Moores, hadn't done such a terrible job with our club in the first place. It's funny how people how forget who he appointed as managers and what a dreadful job he did of turning us into a global business (Man Utd being the comparative from 1990+).
I've read this over and over.
Still can't really make sense of it...

Yes, Roy hasn't been financially backed but in the 8 competitive games inc. UEFA we've been poor and have better players than the team performance produces. That's not good enough. - Rafa didn't get much from them either + see below (more red!)

I've not seen anything from Roy to suggest it'll improve and I for one wouldn't give him a penny until he gets more out of his present team first. He needs to earn his cheque book. - even though massive improvement is needed as stated by said 'Roy'

I like the guy as a person, he's just not good enough - so who?. Same goes for Johnson, Kuyt, Jovanovic and Babel who add nothing to our team except misery and mistakes - cont from above. Kuyt does add hard work but that means jack if you don't score, don't assist, can't beat a man and have no first touch.- he scores, assists and regularly beats his man.

Also, for all you people who slate our current owners, the club would haven't been where it is if "market stall business equivalent", David Moores, hadn't done such a terrible job with our club in the first place. It's funny how people how forget who he appointed as managers and what a dreadful job he did of turning us into a global business (Man Utd being the comparative from 1990+).- fair enough, the current owners have done nothing at all to pull the club down and get us in debt.
Other than that we are in total agreement

There are some bizarre comments on here, judge Roy later, blaming Rafa.

Rafa's team got 86 points not that long ago, 09-10 I agree was poor but we lost 20+ goals from Torres through injury, Rafa should still be here.

Most knowledgable people knew what Roy would bring, very very deep, no opposition half pressing, 1 up front, 2 DM's and it has. Roy's Fulham team were very very negative, hence 1 away win all last yeat. When Rafa came you saw straight away the team was ignited, played differently that Ged's pressed all over the park, as Andy Gray said yesterday this team is no different to Rafa's last teams, negative, and without the pressing.

Roy simply isnt good enough to manage this club. Sad but true.

I dont see it. Our fixtures are pretty lousy for a start of season, Arsenal, Man City, (west brom) Birmingham and Man U, and its off the back of a world cup in which England players come back looking like dicks, and spanish and dutch players will be tired.

                    Positives for me:
Roy takes Lucas off not poulsen, which to me says he see what we see, and that meireles will take his place in the team. Mereiles got bashed first tackle, think Roy is trying to protect him as alot will rest on him.

Roy bought a natural left back who looks like he will be a steady eddie for us and will surprise us all, and we get back to playing 2 natural centre backs.

When cole is back, and we have merieles, poulsen, gerrard and cole thing will flow differently.

I think Roy is guiding us through a difficult start with low morale from last season and trying to make sure we dont lose. Once everyone is back i expect the pace to get upped.

Roy is going to destroy this club. Houllier and Rafa did a good job of ruining the team and Roy isn't going to finish it off. It's not about the owners, the money or a stadium, it's all about consistently sh*t management of players and player funds from the minute Kenny left.

Why didn't he try Babel or Dani against Carr? Utter nonsense.

I really don't enjoy LFC any more.
Would you have preferred Alan Curbishly?
                      Oh I don't know.

Hodgson deserves time to imprint his methods but the worrying thing is that he doesn't seem to assert himself enough during matches. That said, 0-0 away from home against Brum under the circumstances isn't that bad.
We were lucky to get a 0-0 though.

2 goals from 4 games says it all - we never looked like scoring yesterday. We have about 2 exciting moments per game these days. And that's usally when Pepe makes a good save. Hopefully merieles and Cole can make a difference because at the moment we are totally gash.

Jovanich looks like a striker (average) playing out of position. That makes a change...

I think on some level this is a fair post. Your maybe a bit more optimistic than me though.

I never wanted Konchesky because he is no Ashley Cole or Pat Evra but I accept that he is a steady player who can do a job and is probably better than most left-backs in the division.

Ofcourse I do have hope that things will be very different when Mereiles and Cole are ready to play.

But I am seriously concerned by him preferring Skrtle to Agger which is just madness. And also the fact that he had Pacheco, Ngog and Babel available to use yesterday and instead of using them he allowed our boring, negative midfield to remain boring and negative. Im not yet convinced that he will address our lack of width and pace

We draw away to brum last season too.yes, we look ****, still, but it's early doors for Roy and some of the players. Take Jova out and put cole in, martin out and agger in, get Torres a bit more fit and we'll be a stronger side with more quality.
