I don't think Hodgson will play him. The way he's used Cole does intimate that he'll stick him off Torres with Gerrard getting deeper. I don't think he will make too many alterations for a match of this magnitude - he'll be more prosaic.

I think he might play actually since Kuyt is injured, we need more energy on the pitch.

last nights game showed cole and babel must play as well as raul. i'm fed up of negative **** getting written about my team and if we go with the lucas / poulsen mindfield with maxi and jova "wide" then it will be negative **** all over again. why fear them? we need to get back into the race and what better way than attacking manure on their own turf!

Not sure how we should approach this game. Go for the throat or do what Rangers did to them, sit back soak up pressure and try and hit them on the brake. Someone like Torres only needs half a chance, might be worth playing Babel for his pace too, especially on the brake. Darren Fletcher had said something along the lines of he hopes "Liverpool come to attack" maybe he's bluffing who knows but what i do know is that Fletcher is a verry energetic midfielder (something we dont really have) which is why i think Gerrard needs to play centre mid to keep pace with him. Lucas and Poulsen couldn't handle that imo.

Think lastnites game was a "bedding" in one for Meireles and with leaving Poulsen and Lucas out i can see Hodgson sayin the game has come "to early" for him. Though he played in Portugal's recent games and scored so match fitness wise he should be ok.
