Do you know what? I don't think losing would be the worst thing in the world as I honestly believe we need a change of manager and the sooner the better. If we win it just gives him more time for the inevitable which is falling into mediocrity. I don't blame Roy but those that made the decision. I hope they're big enough to change things quickly.

i didnt want Roy but its not all his fault. The same problems Rafa had Roy has they havent gone away.

Roy isnt a bad bloke and the level of personal insults at him are a bit ott but during a match we are all emotional so its likely. the fact i actually didnt see it means i escaped more crap

the problem is deeper than Roy it was deeper than Rafa

Wasn't arsed about the Carling Cup but that's a ****ing embarrassing way to go out of it. We're very much in a transitional state at the moment, but that's got to rank as one of our worst ever defeats, despite the mitigating factors of playing the kids. As Roy well knows, football is a results business. 10 points out of the next 12 (as we should expect to get) and we'll be sitting nicely in the top 6 or so, doing well in Europe, and out of the distraction of the Carling Cup (we'll have forgotten how we went out by then). Anything less, and he could be gone by November!

[edit - sacking him now would be mental though! You don't sack managers for a **** result with the reserves in a competition you couldn't care a toss about. You do sack them if you're safely in the bottom half of the table after 10 games when you're supposed to be challenging for the top four though]

However, calling for Hodgson's head over it is a bit silly imo. Who would we get to replace him right now? Its not like we've never had this sort of result before, I remember some rather ignominious cup results under Rafa. And I'll never forget losing to Peterborough some years ago.

Embarassing yes, but sack a manager over it in September, even one most of us think could be out of his depth? That wouldn't help imo.

Nearly everyone on this forum was calling for Roy to use this competition to blood some of the youngsters, now your all calling for his head over it.

Worst start for 18 years in the league

Fail to win Saturday and its the worst start for over 50 years (since we got relegated in the 50's)

Out of the League Cup by a side 17th in League 2 (or 3rd from bottom in the 4th division for any old arses like me out there)

He NEVER should have been appointed and how the **** we overlooked Kenny for him is beyond ****ing belief
