Yeah you'd think Skrtel is costing us a goal or two every week. It's way OTT. I do think Agger should be in ahead of him and Skrtel is a massive worry in the man-to-man marking system, but to suggest the guy is a complete liability/disaster is pure hyperbole.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Playing Skrtel instead of Agger means that it's easier for the opposition to take the ball playing defensive midfielder out of the game and by that way completely end our creativity in our own half.
It also means that the defense must play deeper and that it takes longer time to counter attack. Instead of Agger making the pass himself it's now Carra or Skrtel passing it to a defensive midfielder and then the DM brings the ball up.
Playing Agger means that we can skip the pass the ball to the defensive midfielder bit and that makes our counter attacks faster.
Counter attacks is the easiest way to score goals away from home. Agger is the key to our quick counter attacks.
It's bloody stupid not playing him at least in all the away games. It hurt our attacking play a lot.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Can that be verified by any of our Danish posters?
This IMO would reinforce what I mentioned in the Glen Johnson thread, that his attacking instincts are being curtailed because Roy thinks defenders should defend and that's it. It's not good.

It really worries me the fact that IMO our best defender is being left out of the side because he tries to play football rather than cringingly bad hoof it style Carra playsOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostWhy?

It concerns me. The idea that he might choose Skrtel over Agger because Agger is a better footballer and like to pass it out from the back seems nonsensical to meOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostWhy?

Surely every manager wants a classy CB on the ball like Dan Agger? It's a huge benefit to the team, he's contributed to far more goals than he has cost us with mistakes. Pissed off if this is true.

Yeah it does, but not as much as it first did, watching the way the interview flowed afterwards he seemed to understand he may have to change his style. With just the quotes about different style of play it sounded like he was seriously pissed off.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWhy?

Regardless of what anyone says our current defenders are often guilty of just hoofing it and not just Carragher
Konchesky to me is massively guilty of this
I cant understand the philosphy and even less so when you look at our squad
We would be far more effective binning Torres and signing someone good in the air to plasy upfront if all we are going to hoof it
Also just lumping it surrenders possession more often than not and its not as if we have a rigid defence that can sitback and absorb pressure we are quite literally leaking goals left right and centre
I am not over enamoured with Hodgson as it is but this is worrying to say the leastBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Key points here. If we had a target man hoofing the ball is fine as whilst the striker holds it up the rest push on and pick the ball off him.Originally posted by Lecter View PostRegardless of what anyone says our current defenders are often guilty of just hoofing it and not just Carragher
