Nearly everyone on this forum was calling for Roy to use this competition to blood some of the youngsters, now your all calling for his head over it.

It's a shocking result but some of you need to get a grip FFS

      We all do.

It was a shocker of a result there's no hiding from that but we can't say it wasn't coming.

Those in the main that performed are not of a good enough standard to play for Liverpool Football Club, yes that's not something we've only just found out tonight but it's something that's been further illustrated after tonight's performance.

Hodgson needs time to re-build the team with the players that he wants in it. Only then can we judge him.

He has a team at the moment barring a few that has no understanding of what it means to play for this club, what it means to put on the red ****, what it means to touch the Welcome to Anfield sign and to walk out on the pitch and listen to the fans singing You'll never walk alone.

Most of them are bottlers who do not have the courage to stand up and be counted and don't know the great history of our club. Hodgson can't be blamed for that however I am surprised he made no substitutions till late on so he can't hide from that I agree.

I for one am willing to give him the time just as I did with Rafa.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Bit of a ridiculous thing to say.

There was more than enough on that pitch tonight to beat a ****ing League 2side.

Roy is well out of his depth, It would be better off for all of us if he was relieved of his duties asap.

Its not a 2nd division side its a League 2 side which in old English is the 4th division!!!!

                      Whatever happened to THIS Liverpool??

Liverpool revived their ambitions of claiming the Premier League title in remarkable fashion as they humiliated champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.

I want this team back. Wil the real LFC please stand up!

Imagine the quality of players we can sign if Roy gets a couple of transfer windows!

ive never been totally convinced that roy was thr right choice but as a fan youve got to back the manager but i thought he might be out of his depth and it looks very much like it.

today we probably had a team that cost at least £30m and we were playing a team that probably spent £300k on theirs.

hodgson isnt getting the best out of the players and people can say whatever they like about the depth and quality of the fringe players, if we cant beat northampton at home then the manager has to take the blame.

we've been playing rubbish football since he took charge and its utterly demoralising stuff if youre a liverpool fan. for some of the fringe players like babel, pacheco and spearing its bad news if you cant impress against league 2 defenders.

babel particularly is a complete waste of space. if only his skills matched his mouth.

So far he's rebuilded with Jones, Konchesky and Poulsen. There's only going to be more mediocrity on the way.

Pacheco, star of recent international tournament, gash tonight = Rafa's fault.
I could go on, but I can't be arsed.
Mate, I disagreed with Moby and said so. What's your point?

Soto went upfront as we were desperate for a goal, can't say that is a big problem. It's the fact we were desperate for a goal that is the problem.

Pacheco being gash is his own fault.

And what was wrong with Jones tonight?

Its only the league cup and we were NEVER going to win it even if we beat Northampton.
