On the basis that we are too good and we have world class players, not a hope in the world of us being relegated or anywhere near it, not a chance. There s another 30 games to go, we'll be 1000% be still in the premier league next season.Originally posted by Rich View PostI'm sorry but on what basis can you say we won't get relegated?
Judging by the results and more importantly the performances we are relegation candidates.

You're probably right mate but we need to pull our fingers out and start playing - having "world class" is all well and good but they have to actually ****ing play - on current form we're relegation fodder.Originally posted by danperkins View PostOn the basis that we are too good and we have world class players, not a hope in the world of us being relegated or anywhere near it, not a chance. There s another 30 games to go, we'll be 1000% be still in the premier league next season.

We do need a serious kick in the bollox alright mate its dire straits at the moment, and yes currently we are and desrve to be in the bottom three but there's no way we'll remain there for long.

The team has to set up to get the best out if the players.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostYou're probably right mate but we need to pull our fingers out and start playing - having "world class" is all well and good but they have to actually ****ing play - on current form we're relegation fodder.
It's all well and good moaning about some of them but stick Gerrard in at left back and then start complaining about his performances. We have hardly given Torres a single opportunity this season, certainly not a run of chances to get his eye in.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

you're completly right mate but some performances have been poor, not going to pick out individuals but as a collective it's been poor.Originally posted by Rich View PostThe team has to set up to get the best out if the players.

I know most is down to the hideous tactics but I also want to see some
passion from them.
Just makes me think more and more that Roy needs to go and go quickly along with Satan and his gimp.

What can you tell us about the impression Roy made on the board?
Broughton: He made an excellent impression. He came across as extremely thoughtful, prepared and thorough.
He wanted to focus on how he could get more out of the existing players. His focus wasn't on 'how much money can I have?' or 'I want to bring this person in or that person in' - he was really focused on 'I believe, and I've got a track record that demonstrates it, that I can take the existing players, get much better performances out of them and buy constructively to build for a better future.'
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

How the **** is he still here?
I'll try and answer my own question. He was on a cushy number with Fulham. He was given three years as when he no doubt does get the boot it covers the money he has lost by leaving Fulham. No way will he resign.
And i think in part it will be because he feels let down by the players. I can put a great case in for the players as to why they are not responding to his football ideals. But that aside, Hodgson is basically trying to do a job with his hands tied behind his back. The players clearly to my mind don't fancy it and are not doing as he is asking.
So before we all get on the bandwagon saying Hodgson is a useless manager, it is best to remember that. He is a good manager and his methods do work. But they will always suit a team with slightly less expectations as they will buy into conceding possession and territory.
I think it was an appointment that made sense to those appointing him as they just looked at how respected he is, how he is a true gent, doesn't court controversy and I think his interview showed he was desperate for the chance to prove himself at the top.
Sadly, his methods have not been called into question enough. Clearly the question that was missing was "How will you go about getting the job done and what methods will you use?"
I think that question should be key when deciding the next appointment at the club.Forwards.......

I think the players are trying just they're hamstrung by the **** tactics and formation employed. Our defence looks appalling now. Why? Biggest reason is sitting too deep and inviting pressure and more importantly crosses into the danger area. It's woeful from Roy to attempt this.
Last season the main reasons for failure was our central midfield axis, left attacker/forward and injuries. Im lumping Aurelio in with the injuries! Then all war broke out behind the scenes and Rafa couldn't turn it around.
Arguably we can now solve the midfield problem with Merieles but Hodgson has undermined the team with adding dross and **** formations.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1
