Would any manager we signed in the summer (realistically signed) been able to get us any more points with the tough fixture list we had? After a world cup, and having to bed in new players (Miereles, Cole, etc).

I'm more p*ssed off with the players at the moment. Agger, couldn't you just have f*cking buried that header like manure always do in the 97th minute?

But I am starting to worry about Roy's 'tactical' decision making too. The only saving grace Roy has at the moment is that he's in the grace period. Once thats over we need to stop the long balls. Seriously.
    One tit for another.

i said it discreetly to friends and family right at the start of the season. roy won't last more than 12 games and if he does we'll do well to finish 8th.

I don't think we'll get a win in our next 6 games, inc blackpool.

4-4-2 don't work with the squad we have
      Not playing agger
      Playing raul out of position
      uninspiring signings
      uninspiring subs
      Uninspiring interviews
      Wrong mentality

The main problem is this nonsense of essentially playing one up front AND having little width.
A fully firing Torres could cope BUT it is asking too much when he's not. Anyway it is negative and certainly Stevie G is now essentially playing behind our defensive midfielder -WHY?
Ist half no width -Kuyt clearly not fit was playing where?
Joe Cole plays just off the front man but too deep in the hole and so we had no width
in the first half at all -even Johnson wasn't getting forward and when he does he dallies and doesn't get the ball over.
At least when N'Gog plays with Nando we have a bit more of a threat.
Agger was probably our best player!! Konchesky clearly has had an ankle problem that's the 3rd time he's gone off with it!
Gerrard is wasted where he started and at times we looked very vulnerable at the centre of defence
If we were looking for good defenders why did we not go for Michael Turner when at Hull!! Reckon the scouse full back centre half from Brum Scott Dann looks a good player who also scores goals!

No because I dont think the board will admit their mistake

However I do not think we will improve under Roy

This is our level under his management

Yup. I dont think Purslow is the type to publicly admit his mistake. This was his first footballing decision and I think the board will hang on for as much as possible to see if Roy can salvage something.

if RBS takes over and we go into administration will the 9 point penalty kick in immediately? Coz if that happens, we could be in a serious relegation battle.

I usually agree with most of your posts, unfortunatley none more so than this one.

Just seen the highlights and my god, they make it look like we deserved to win by miles - we really didnt.

Plus, Stevie should've been sent off.

Torres disallowed goal was incorrectly ruled out.

                  Bent should've had a peno.

How Agger missed that header at the end, i'll never know. He had time to bring it down on his chest and volley home.

As for our first goal - say what you will, but before Turner's kicked the ball backwards, the ball has stopped dead - and the ref has blown his whistle - by all accounts, that's the freekick taken.

And Bruce can go **** himself, he had no problem with their illegal beachball goal last season, so he can get to ****.

The problem is the setup and style of play Roy has us adopting from kick-off. If he doesn't change this approach things will get worse. No doubt about it! There is no excuse for allowing teams to come to Anfield, sit deep and allow them to dictate the play. Unfortunately this is what's been happening every game under Roy so far this season. As the games progress you can see the opposition growing in confidence and for me I cannot accept this.
agreed. Best post I've seen in a long, long time.

Roy cannot play any other system than his 442 and our entire squad isnt geared to playing that way. Every player was bought in to play the 4231 system and hodgson likes two up front with a big target man and a smaller nippier box striker.

We dont have any of those, we dont have any pacy wingers and consequently roy's teams like him look confused.

skrtel cant play with carragher because they're too similar. Carra only looks really comfortable with agger and they make a good partnership and agger should be first choice.

The commentators on the radio were saying how inactive hodgson was - just letting his players get on with it. Im sorry but thats poor management to me especially when we're playing with no cohesion and the team needs direction.

I think the job is too big for roy and the management of such massive players and egos is a step too far for someone who has never handled such a huge club. Players need to respect managers and Roy doesnt have a great pedigree, a hugely successful track record or is a particularly big ego like benitez was. His salary is half of what the top stars like gerrard, torres and co earn whereas benitez was on a reported £5m a year.

Another thing that confused me is the purchases of new players. He doesnt fancy daniel agger at centre back because he likes his defenders to 'defend' but then we go out and buy danny wilson who is agger mark II. If he's not going to play the first one why bother buying the second ?

Roy also doesnt know how the best use meireles. I dont understand the point of buying a player and then saying that we're still trying to figure out how to best use him with the gerrard and poulsen axis.

What the ****s that supposed to mean ? If you dont know what his best position is or what his strengths are why did we pay nearly £11m for him ? Who decided on his purchase ?

That is Roys best team (well seen as he refuses to start Agger it is)

That side included 4 players Roy had signed plus 3 WORLD CLASS players. He cant hide behind Rafa Benitez imo

He played 4-4-2 AGAIN which is we dont have the personnel to play

He plays Meireles out of position in this 4-4-2

He plays Gerrard in midfield again a man who has scored nearly 60 goals in the previous 3 seasons from a position just off the striker

We were gifted a goal so this result was more fortunate than a hard won point

We lack discipline, organisation and commitment. We have absolutely no shape and we are playing far too deep

Sunderland had more possession than US

We looked to lump the ball constantly, we didnt pass the ball on the ground and when we did it lacked incisiveness

I just dont see it improving if anything you could argue we have gotten worse

Totally agree, especially about having no idea how best to use Meireles. It was scary when he said "we'll figure out his best position on the training field". Give us a break Roy.

But what scares and concerns me most, is blasting around £5m on an absolutely wank 30 year old. His judgement of players looks really poor. Roy was asked to do an article before the World Cup - 10 players to watch at the tournament. He had his pick of every player gracing the World Cup...any player he liked. And he picked ****ing Poulsen. The guy is absolutely ****e. I think only Hodgson and Perkins rate him, and that is a damning indictment

i knew roy would need time to get things sorted but i didnt think we would be this bad either. The fact is we're getting outplayed in most games and even against west brom at home, if we're honest west brom were the better side. In fact in pretty much every game we've played this season, we've been the worse side.

He's got to get gerrard in behind fernando, agger with carragher, aurelio left back and cole wide left with kuyt wide right. If he doesnt then our results will continue in this vein.
