Blackpool are 10/1 against a Hodgson team?

Simon_Hughes__ Hodgson's musings in the #LFC V Blackpool programme are interesting. Sky will probably make a lot of what he says.
He said "Andy Gray is a ******".

Get Roy out - and get Laudrup in (from Mallorca).

Roy Hodgson has explained why he plays Raul Meireles on the right side of midfield.

Meireles is a centre midfielder for Portugal and was a centre midfielder for Porto before the Reds signed him so it was puzzling to see him pushed out right for Liverpool's last couple of games. Hodgson has explained the reasoning behind his decision.

"We don't play with wingers. The way he plays and the way Joe Cole plays, we think (playing wide midfield) is more than suited to their qualities," said the boss.

"We saw evidence of that in the game because they often got into situations where they received and turned with the ball - especially in the first half. I think we can get some use from Raul Meireles there with his passing ability."

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will return to the starting line-up for Sunday's Premier League visit of Blackpool. Gerrard was rested for Thursday's Europa League goalless draw in Utrecht.

Liverpool have a problem at left-back as Paul Konchesky and Fabio Aurelio are still injured. Usual stand-in Daniel Agger has a groin problem and Martin Kelly sustained a knee problem in Holland.

Jamie Carragher could possibly return to a position he has not played in for several years, with Sotirios Kyrgiakos coming into the middle of defence. However, Hodgson remains hopeful Kelly will recover in time.

Blackpool will again be without defender Alex Baptiste when they travel to Anfield.

Baptiste missed last week's defeat to Blackburn after suffering a recurrence of an old knee ligament injury and has now had an operation.

The 24-year-old faces several weeks on the sidelines, where he joins Louis Almond, Malaury Martin and Billy Clarke.

Liverpool Squad: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Kelly, Meireles, Gerrard, Poulsen, Cole, Kuyt, Torres, Jones, Kyrgiakos, Babel, Pacheco, Ngog, Lucas, Rodriguez, Jovanovic.

Blackpool Squad: Gilks, Kingson, Keinan, Eardley, Taylor-Fletcher, Crainey, Evatt, Adam, Vaughan, Varney, Ormerod, Campbell, Grandin, Harewood, Southern, Carney, Cathcart, Basham, Euell, Sylvestre, Demontagnac, Phillips, Edwards.

Note to readers: A player can be named in a team's squad, even if he is definitely not going to play.

MARTIN KELLY has soothed a potential headache for Roy Hodgson after he was declared fit to take his place in Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s clash with Blackpool.

The Reds boss was facing a massive problem at left-back as the specialists in the position Paul Konchesky (hamstring) and Fabio Aurelio (Achilles tendon) are definitely out.

Aside from that, Daniel Agger has not recovered from the groin problem which ruled him out of the squad that travelled to Utrecht on Thursday.
