Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                    some nice goals there tonight.
The effort of the match for me was Kuyts stike against the cross bar, allthough all goals from us where good. What a volley by Kuyt.

Agreed Kuyt's was brilliant, also we must have a good record of players scoring debut goals in the Carling cup, that's Paletta to add to the list.

It seems both Paletta and Agger have a good idea of where the goal is, which makes a refreshing change.

If you look at todays match, we goals from our two strikers, one from a Central Defender and on from a full back. It was only missing a goal from midfield, whihc unfortunately wasn't going to come from Sissoko or Zenden.

I can't believe that the match of the night was relegated to third on the list and ITV only showec the goals and 1 or 2 more chances.

We're seriously missing a fit Harry Kewell. Imagine him and riise on our left, we'd be so much more potent.
