I'm not taking it personally in any way, I am far from a fan of Poulsen and think he is overrated in a danish context... He has not been crap forever, he was an integral part of a champion challenging Schalke and Sevilla side, so that is just purely out of better knowledge saying that. He has however gone downhill since joining Juve.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostCome on, mate, get off your high horse. I know you're Danish but there's no need to take it personally.
Poulsen is 30 and has been crap (in relative terms) forever. I never wanted him here and so far he's proved me 100% right. Others have been crap this season and many of them were crap last season too. But we've seen them play better so they're going through poor form. So, yes, we can blame all of them but some of them will get better, at least if and when we get a more capable manager.
I've never seen Poulsen play any better than middling and that was a while ago. Now he's too slow and too old and too crap on the ball to play as a holding midfielder in the Premiership.
I'm very supportive of new players and young players. I've consistently defended Lucas, probably too far. But he's done OK and does not deserve the criticism he gets.
Poulsen is, as Shaggy said, a Hodgson crime - he's not really as bad as Ferri but he's not good enough. I'd rather have Spearing in the team tbh and I'd definitely rather have Lucas.
I can easily accept the dire performance of the team - it's disappointing but the fact is we've been abysmal. And that, very largely, is down to the manager.
The sooner he goes the better.
But as with Lucas and Babel I honestly think it's very poor the way SOME Liverpool fans talk about our players, calling them cunts, idiots and what not. They might not be the gods gift to football but we should still support them.
And I still stand by the fact that people use him as a scapegoat the way Lucas was last season, it's apparently the easy solution of picking one player to get ones frustrations out that is chosen!
And this thread shows it well, it would hardly have been made if it was Torres would it?
Poulsen is not a player that takes us forward in any way, but that is not an excuse on the way everything is taken out on him.

Poulsen will get better, he'll adapt and settle in, he has played 389 minutes of football in the English Premier League, sure he has been ****, apart from second half against mancs but its just another chance for people who want Roy out to have a pop as he signed him.
Poulsen was never gonna be in Masch's league as Masch is world class at what he does, he was a rushed replacement as we had **** all time, suggestions about putting Spearing in ahead of him are ****ing ridiculous, a silly silly notion. Lucas has here for 3 seasons and watching him in a LFC shirt i get a similiar feeling to when i have very bad diarrhea. So at the moment between Poulsen, Lucas & Spearing we don't have good options in there but i'm sure Poulsen will improve.
People wanna look closer to the likes of Johnson,Jovo,Carra,Maxi, Babel, Skrtel,Torres etc who have been equally as bad if not worse, Glen Johnson especially. The poxy display is down to the manager and the players, and not just one individual. We will kick into gear at some point, hopefully its sooner rather than later.Last edited by danperkins; 09-10-10, 07:37 PM.

What I wrote was not minded on anyone specific - none mentioned none forgotten if you know what I mean... And what I mean is that it's fine criticizing him because he has been poor, but calling him cunt etc. is out of order IMO.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPersonally I'm not into calling him a 'cunt' and all that, although I've given him plenty of stick.
Clearly everybody has been ****e, but IMO Poulsen has been one of the absolute worst. The fact Hodgson has broken from his usual philosophy of "no subs til we're past 80 minutes" to haul him off after an hour on no less than three occasions surely suggests (at least) Roy is becoming increasingly aware of the guy's ineptitude and utter unsuitability for this league. He's just far too slow in body and mind, and, well, just not good enough.
And for what it's worth I've been one of those with unwavering faith in Lucas. Ironically I'd just waved the white flag on Lucas when Poulsen turned up
and now I want him back in the side until we get someone better.
and the rest I think I explained in response to Neill
(lazy ******* I am!)

As a Dane I feel humiliated to have C. Poulsen in the staff at LFC - even though I can say, that I warned about his lack of qualities in here:
---------------------------
At the 18/7 2010 I wrote:
NO WAY - lets not have this pr..., this errorprone arrogant selfish rude teenager of a midfielder. He makes errors in front of his own goal, he cannot bring the ball out of defence, he has a temper so uncontrollable - and he is in no way the supporters man.

5/8 2010 I wrote:
One thing for sure abt. Poulsen - He will never EVER be the fans man. He hates the public fuss - and feels harassed any time a supporter tries to get an autograph from him.
I brought at coach of teenagers to a match in Spain - Sevilla lost that match, so the fans booed them a little. My teenagers stood outside the players entrance - and as Poulsen came out, they sung the danish international hymn. He ignored them - even though they made up 90% of the those standing there. Arrogrant and with no touch at the ground - he seems to like to walk alone.......
---------------------------------------
He did not only manage to give the ball away to Nani once, but twice in last nights game - as also the goal for 3-1 was a gift from his toes.
He hates to come under pressure of any opponent - and you will see soon that any manager in the PL will have one forward player focus on putting pressure on C. Poulsen. Poulsen loves to bring the ball out of the defence, but has not the quality to give it away as fast as needed in the PL. That was shown last night as well as in the World Cup, where he also lost the ball under just easy pressure.
I hope his stay with LFC will be short, as I hope he retires from both International and PL-football, and moves to the Far East - eg. China - to end his career.
I usually do not slate LFC-players - and hate to do it, but here we are so far below LFC-standards, that I do it. I also want Hodgson to leave - asap!!- - - - -
You will never walk alone

I just want to say that no matter how bad some of the players have been, Poulsen has been worse. Even if we were to win games 6 nil and every player got a rating of 8 or 9 out of 10, I can guarentee Poulsen would still get a rating of around 3 or 4. Clearly he straightens his hair too the turdbag. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

I have mentioned this before. I think he would be really good in the Rafa Marquez role for Mexico. They play with two out and out wing backs and marquez plays infront of the 2 CB's and gets the ball out wide really well for them. He plays that rol for New York Red Bulls now as well.96 Never Forgotten

That was always his position, Barca converted him into a centreback. With regards to Agger playing in midfield, I've thought about it too. He definitely would be miles better than Poulsen at it. But long term, I don't think so.Originally posted by Fernandinho View PostI have mentioned this before. I think he would be really good in the Rafa Marquez role for Mexico. Hmmm - to be honest, he does have all the attributes you would associate with a midefielder and not a defender. I think if Agger was to play in midfield, he would play in a similar way to Gareth Barry I reckon. Gareth Barry does have an excellent ability/instinct of getting into the opposition box though and I can't see Agger having this.Originally posted by Fernandinho View PostI see, cheers Saj. Also just thought his height would help win first and second balls in midfield, especially with out short people running around other then meireles. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Alright Roy how is it going mate?Originally posted by 5europeancups View PostHow many games has this guy played in the English Premiership, and already he is being labelled as c**t .
Hes adapting to a new team and a new sytem with a new manager, something that many supporters based on comments in this thread seem to forget.
Sure he hasnt impressed yet, but its a bit early to make any sort of judgement, neve mind the kind of moronic statements that seem to be made.
Give him a chance to settle, and find his feet in the new system, and then judge him.
Remember how long it took Mascherano to settle...
Not a bad idea, I hadn't thought of this. Unfortunately I've got a feeling he will be to busy playing left back under RoyOriginally posted by Rudo View PostAgger in midfield lads, thoughts?
He has composure, excellent technical ability and can pass the ball.
As a temp option until Jan (when we hopefully strengthen our centre mid) i think it could be worth a shot.
such a waste of his talent atm
