There's plenty of scope with that side if someone's injured or MIA. Babel can play up front or move to left side. Cole can move left and Stevie into the hole. I'd like to see Jovanovic get time up front at some point soon also if need be.That is his normal position, same as babel, but gets played wide left.

We need to batter these punks and restore some lost pride

So despite bossing the midfield for Brazil midweek, Lucas can't even get a spot on the bench aheah of ? or his mate ?...

All the talk recently has been about anything but the actual playing side of things with Liverpool however it's soon time for this focus to turn fully (almost) back to this. The weekend sees Premier League action return, following the international break, and this returns with the Reds sweating on the fitness of players.

Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger were both injured when representing their countries and face a race against time to be fit for the Merseyside derby with Everton on Sunday. Kuyt was forced off after less than half an hours play in the Dutch's game against Sweden with an ankle injury, which is believed to look fairly serious. Agger, just back from a groin problem, was forced off before half time as Denmark faced Cyprus. Both will be assessed and a decision made on their fitness however Dirk looks as though he'll, in particular, be unfit to feature and could face some time on the sidelines.

There is better news about Fernando Torres though as the Spaniard is back in training when it was initially feared that the striker was facing a longer period out. He may well be fit to start against the Blues though, which would be a bonus as he looks, and we look for him, to rediscover his best form.

To be honest, I would much rather see a ? on the teamsheet than Poulsen. Who knows, maybe a derby game is what Poulsen needs to kick start his Pool career. I'd actually be delighted if he ****ed over that dirty ******* Fellani.

            Fellani out injured again.

            Poulsen suspended.

Good shout actually for a game like this, but think you're a bit optomistic with your forwards.

I have a bad feeling about this game, that's all I can. I have no faith in Roy what so ever. I hope to see something like this, alas I know it's impossible:

Johnson - Carragher - the Greek - Kelly (Aurelio if fit)
                Lucas - Meireles
                Maxi/Babel - Gerrard - Cole
                Torres(if fit)

Obviously I'm banking assuming that Agger and Kuyt are out. I don't really care if Konchesky is out or not, I don't fancy him playing. Cole hasn't really done anything to justify a starting place and he's pissed me off, although he's a good footballer and might as well be given the benefit of the doubt. Meireles is a central midfielder, play him there for christ sake. I've had it upto my cock with Poulsen so we might as well give Lucas a go.

For some reason I really can't get into the prospect of this game, actual football still seems unimportant to me. I suppose us being so utterly ****e doesn't help.

have to agree with Shaggy, We are in a relegation 6pointer with the bitters and haven't even given it a thought.

****ing hell! the derby! thats going to be a nightmare of a game to watch - all the talk will be about the collapse of us, the **** up of a week we are going through. they will be fired up, they think they (probably right) they have a better squad and manager than us now for the first time in about 25 years. The blue gob****e *******s i know are expecting to turn us over.

I'm expecting loads of USA type chants and 'going down' etc etc -

with all the **** going on off the field, it's such a mess, and the way the players have performed so far, i just can't see us turning this round unless in the next couple of days some major ****ing decisions get made and go our way and we finally put hicks/gillette to bed and the takeover is finalised....that might give the players/fans a lift to go out and smash them

if it's still a mess tho - i fear we could get beat.

I'm so out of touch due to internationals and this court thingy - were are we with injuries??

kuyt? torres? konk? agger? aurelio? any of these ready

i've heard lucas looked good for brazil and that poulsen is just a cunt so i'm hoping we see a midfield three of meireles/lucas/gerrard - joe cole and torres in there, johnson agger and skrtel and reina........leaves us with question marks on the wings and at full back - it might have to maxi and jovanovic *shudders*

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

at least the match will be a good distraction to the court cast fiasco. If we win that is

I've never been uninterested in a derby game before. I'm always a nervous wreck during the entire week before the game and now I almost couldn't care less. I'm completely numb.
