The circumstantial evidence is there, but agger was the same under rafa. There were always rumours doing the rounds about the 'real' reason he was missing so many games...most of which would be libellous so I won't repeat them.

Roy has been a knob when it comes to agger, no doubt about that, but I think this injury/these injuries are just agger being agger. Class player but he's never fit. Probably time to cash in and recall Ayala to the squad in jan.

I think JH has a serious dilemma.

He wants to move things on for the best in order not to waste money but he also doesnt want to be seen as rewacting in a knee jerk fashion by firing Roy.

I personally beleive that the new owners are looking for a excuse to fire Roy now, but as long as he keeps on winning he will be very difficult to fire.

If we beat Chelsea on Sunday then it will be very interesting indeed to see the reactions on the boards and in the boardroom.

If we lose it will still be difficult for the owners to sack a manager that is so well respected by his contemporaries.

It is reported in the danish media that Agger has been sent to London to see a specialist about his calf problem.

Could be a while before we see him back in the red shirt unfortunatly

            Could be long term.

On Daniel Agger's continued absence with a calf injury, Hodgson said: "Agger is long-term. They can't put a date on it.

"At the moment he can't train, he has just got to rest and wait for the next time he goes to see the specialist again.

"They are very anxious that bone doesn't form. It is a calcification issue and training would certainly accelerate the calcification.

"Now they have to wait and hope the body breaks down the calcifying elements before he can even think about training again.

"So it could be very long term."

****ing hell, gets me down. Not that he'd be playing anyway, but we were screaming out for him today. I don't mind Skrtel, but the way he's been going the last year or so, as I said in the other thread he's an accident waiting to happen, a ticking time bomb if you will.

Daniel Agger out for the 'long-term' with calf injury

Liverpool will be without Daniel Agger for an unspecified period of time as specialists seek to resolve the Danish defender's troubling calf injury.

Agger's last appearance was on 12 October when he played for Denmark against Cyprus in Euro 2012 qualifier.

"Agger could be very long-term," said Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson. "They can't put a date on it and at the moment he can't train - he has just got to rest.

"They are anxious that bone doesn't form. It's a calcification issue."

The 25-year-old defender visited a specialist in London last week and has been told not to train to allow the problem to rectify itself.

"Training would certainly accelerate the calcification," added Hodgson. "Now they have to wait and hope the body breaks down the calcifying elements before he can even think about training again.

"He has just got to rest and wait for the next time he goes to see the specialist again."

It is the latest in a line of fitness problems for Agger, who missed almost four months of last season with a back injury.

The Dane last played for Liverpool on 25 September when he came on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland.

I fully expected Sktrel to be dropped if Kyrgiakos was fit, but IMO he seems to be getting better with every game he plays recently. Thought he was very good again yesterday and is gonna give Roy a very hard decision when Kyrgiakos is fit again.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's time we looked to offload Agger, the problem is - which Club would be mad enough to buy him?

Simply too injury prone is Agger.

We need to get Agger on a pay-as-you-play deal. At the moment that may be the only financially sound solution - nobody in their right mind would pay big money for him

                              Agger unfortunately has to go.

I agree with this. I think he's fantastic when he's right, its just too infrequent to build a successful team. The main stay of any successful team is a settled defense. We should get decent money from one of the Milan teams if he is sold.
