Those stats have to make you question why he was appointed in the first place. Ok so he has better records in the footballing back waters, but surely it's his Premiership record and his record in big competitions that counts and his record there is poor
Just a quick gander and his teams concede more than they score.

So this illusion that he builds teams from the back is incorrect.
    • His defence is ****.
    • His midfield has Poulsen in it.
    • His attack is ****.

I am failing to see any redeeming features.

New England Sports Ventures (NESV) are currently evaluating all options in their first month at the helm before making key decisions but talk of player incomings and outgoings at Anfield has dominated the headlines.

Hodgson, under fire from fans with Liverpool still in the relegation zone, claims that the club currently have more players who commanded lucrative transfer fees than cheaply sourced players of a higher calibre.

He said: “I think you can pay an awful lot of money for poor players and you can pay not very much money for very good ones – it is all to do with how good your scouting and your eye is.“There are a lot of things here that the club has got to get right. We have got a lot more expensive failures on our list than good players that we have brought in for next to nothing.

“Free transfers don’t necessarily mean that you have got a bargain. My experience of them has been very mixed. You need to be sure that the player you get can do the job you want from him.”

Konchesky and Poulsen 10million proving his point admirably

It's bewildering - I actually hate not backing the manager of our team, but with the results coupled with the style of play (or lack of), blaming everyone bar his dreadful tactics and taking pot shots at our own ****ing players he has to be living with his head in the clouds

The sooner Roy leaves the sooner we can look to build for the future, he's 63 and is nothing more than a stop gap manager whilst we sorted out other issues (H&G) - that time has now passed.

I can't understand what's taking NESV so long? Each day I think it's the day we get rid of the stupid old ****er yet he's still here.

I would imagine they are getting the management structure in place and researching what needs to be done to really move us forwards again, probably from the bottom up.

Ok, that's torn it for me too

Get out Roy, you're hopelessly out of your depth and you can see that even the precious English media seem to be realising it

Go now, whilst you've still got a scrap of respect. I don't think you'll have it much longer
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

If only our owners felt the same.

Would loooove to see Pellegrini come in before Jan..work with the owners on available targets..would help no end in the fight to keep Torres, Pepe etc. imo. new methods..exciting training sessions...a younger more technical manager, playing the type of football players like Torres etc like to play, excite and invigorate = enjoy and play well. (All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy)

I'm pretty confident that we'd do better with no manager. Anything but this ****wit will do - I'm not enjoying cheering this guy (the team) on a match day at the moment - he's not LFC material and he needs to realise this and pack his bags. He doesn't even merit the money he's entitled to, via his contract if he's sacked, as he's made this team worst than what it was. He should resign and spare NESV and the club the millions he owes the club with the signings of Poulsen & Konchesky alone.
                    Are we winning?

Does anybody ever visit the forum on the official site? What’s the general consensus about Roy on there?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I can. They're looking for a manager in the Wenger mould, someone young who will be here for the long term and who will build up a team capable of sustained success. Unfortunately, it will probably take a bit of research to identify the right candidate. Lets just hope that they find someone before Roy digs us into more of a hole by alienating good players, wasting any January transfer funds and dropping too many points.

I know the stats don't tell the whole picture (in that he wasn't at the best clubs) but for me it's worrying to have a manager who loses more games than he wins and whose team concedes more goals than they score. His stats for me are average. Based on those his teams would finish with ~48 points which would typically get you an 11th or 12th place finish in the table.

He should never have been appointed in the first place
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Which I agree with but surely that process takes longer than a couple of months (or at least should to do the homework properly) and if that is the case then we need someone better than Hodgon to be managing us in the meantime.
I'm not one for chopping and changing managers but if NESV take too long we won't have any good players left for the new manager to work with.

The poorer the players in the club the poorer the manager we attract, currently most managers we as fans would be happy to see will want to work with Pepe, Gerrard, Torres, J.Cole and be excited by the youngsters coming through.
My fear is that if Hodgson stays until January Torres and maybe, maybe Pepe would have sorted out deals to leave. Both can play in the CL still this season and in all honesty they both deserve to play for a better manager than Hodgson
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I may be way off the mark here but could we attract someone like Pep Guardiola? I can see him moving on if they don't win La Liga, and judging by how well Real are going I think that may be a possibility. He's been mentioned recently as a successor to the Tramp. And I seem to remember him being linked as a player towards the end of his career, even taking in the odd game as a spectator.
