"They expect to win everything, the Premier League and Champions League," Pennant said. "It's hard living on the past and to live up to the reputation Liverpool have. They want to be the best team in the world and the fans think they should still be. It's difficult with other clubs spending so much money, signing players from all over the world."
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We certainly hope to win everything but realistically I think most of us knows that we are quite some distance from doing exactly that.

He broke the dominance of the Old Firm up in Scotland. Not easy to do.

But Utd will look to replace Fergie with proven quality. They'd be mad not to.

Unless it's someone with world class potential (Villas), then we should be going for someone with a great track record

              Liverpool lose at Stoke
LIVERPOOL'S wretched defeat at Stoke provoked an angry reaction on our website with many supporters venting their fury at manager Roy Hodgson.

Here's a selection of them below - you can have your say by logging in below and leaving a comment

Congratulations Roy you have achieved what you set out to do: You have lowered my expectations:

Whats the point of beating Chelsea if you cant beat Stoke and get a result against Wigan.

              NESV listen to the fans

              HODGSON OUT

              matchy
The worst display ive seen since 1974

No spirit no fight in the team and they call themselves football players??? Shocking!!

They and Hodgson take the blame for this .....The u19s effort would have been so much better than this

Why wait till we are 1-0 down before we try and attack - YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES

Mr Henry and Mr Werner. Time for your 1st big decision. Roy Hodgson is a liability. Get rid of him and put Kenny in charge until a top, top manager (with a proven track record) can be appointed.

Hodgson is too negative. He is out of his depth and has run out of time. He is taking LFC down to his level of expectations. Mediocrity!!! Go Roy for the sake of the club.

If it was fulham hodgson was managing you would say that they were doing well , roy this team is not fulham its liverpool and if you can't motivate this team to win at Wigan and now Stoke then I'm afraid you are not good enough, you need to be the gentleman that people claim you are to be and resign

              NickB
              Dismal.

I too thought we had to give Hodgson time, but the boredom handed out since the Chelsea match is too much. The players too need to look in the mirror. How is it that supposed internationals play so badly? Too easy putting all of this on the manager, although he is clearly responsible for a large part of it.

Roy has to go, I didn't think he was the right man when it was announced as his record is not good enough and he has proven me and everyone else to be right.

I think we have to act before the rot gets deeper and we finish mid-table which is all he's going to achieve. It is the same when he was at Fulham couldn't win an away match. Bring in King Kenny before Gerrard, Torres and Reina decide enough is enough and move on. Do the right thing Roy and resign

No conviction, no direction, no team spirit, Every game is like watching Groundhog day. Fingers crossed, Monday morning some one is getting his p45. Otherwise West Ham willl be rubbing their hands

              Cowbag
Pathetic & a disgrace !! Negative long ball football.... anyone who wants to give Roy time go put your head in a blender and turn on full power!!!! Battered by Wigan & Stoke - how the mighty have fallen. Roy OUT and half the players can follow him , every player today was a disgrace to our club

              ihardy
We got what we deserved NOTHING ! WE WERE DREADFUL and with the exception of 3 games this season we have been playing the worst football i can ever remember ,,, judge me after 10 games well i make that about 25 now , nice bloke or not hes clearly out of his depth

              jeff20
This is all so depressing. The worst thing is that Liverpool fans appreciate good attacking football and I don't think we have even been subjected to watching our team perform as negatively as this.

I cannot get my head around the fact we are being dominated by teams like Stoke and Wigan.

yoloStick your mortgage on West Ham doing us next week...it's getting to the point where I am half hoping that they do.

It kills me to say that but if it means we get rid of this chocolate teapot then so be it.

              tinyt
I'm not defending Roy , but there were 11 players on that pitch tonight that stunk the place out, they didn't have any fight in them.

              scullyboy
Hodgson has to go NOW. This guy could't motivate a corpse to lie still.

              smiler72
I was chuffed last week, but something is going on if we can beat Chelsea one week and get outplyed by Stoke the next. I'm sick of the long ball hoofing up the park to Torres when we clearly play better on the ground going through the middle. I just don't understand - it seems so obvious, but clearly not to the bloke making the decisions.

Koncheski is diabolical in my opinion. Truely awful.

I am all for giving Roy a chance, but today was ridiculous. How can he take a huge step forward, then throw it all away within a week? He's done himself no favours whatsoever.

              Irsey
A week of euphoria got us 1 point against lower teams who shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as LFC.Why change the back four to accomadate Skrtel and move JC to right back when Kelly played the game of his life last Sunday? Bring in the Greek on form but don't drop Kelly?

This is the worst LFC I have ever known since first watching them from 1960. No passion,no direction,no heart and worst of all no class.

Now the same with Hodgson, I am the first to admit i actually thought he would do ok. but i was media blinded and didnt know to much about the oap. Its clear to see that with a little bit of stats that the bloke is a joker. we been conned again!!!

I've always cursed the day Gerrard changed his mind to stay instead of leave to chelsea. We could of done so much more to the team had he been sold. And I've always stood that carragher should of been relieved of his spot years ago. We dont need the two of them. The day both are gone will be the best day for the club because then they will be able to actually move forwards. All our problems seem to always involve their names being brought up, and theres a reason why that happens so often. You NEVER hear other players names when something big pops up thats affecting the club. The most you get is people wanting to leave. These two seem to screw with everything on and off the pitch though.

Let's discuss how Hodgson will be removed and possible replacements. Lecter has mentioned the Porto guy. What about Owen Coyle anyone. Young and I think he's turned Bolton into a decent footballing team on limited resources.
Owen Coyle isn't good enough, nor any other English manager for that matter.
                              Are we winning?

I did hear he may have taken a job in an Arab country but I'm sure he'd have an escape clause if a premiership club came knocking.
