Bellamy was bloody awful when he was with us!

Rafa's man management skills are not his strong point, he freely admits he's not the arm round the shoulder type, not saying you need to be like that but being able to adapt player to player helps.

The transter side of things, Rafa got it wrong in his last season, it happens to all managers from time to time but Keane, Aqualani were poor purchases, one came here injured and the other didn't click, at the end of the day they were his choices.

Rafa has been the best manager we've had in 20 years but don't try and dress him up as some sort of infallable individual who got nothing wrong.

In fact your over-sensitive defense of him gives me the impression you only half believe what you write here anyway!

Yes, he made mistakes like all other managers do. He admitted it himself a lot of times. He was man enough to do that.

He made some bizzare subs but not more than any other manager. The difference being that when Fergie had to make a sub then he could turn to £15m+ players. Rafa had to turn to £0-£10m players for example.

Rafa didn't had a good Academy that produced players that he could fill up the gaps with. He had to buy players instead. That is why he was forced to sign a lot of cheaper players instead of an excellent one. He had to build up a squad.

He even had to sign up his own youth team players and others signed up the youth team players they wanted. It was like building two youth team squads at the same time. The ones Rafa wanted and the ones other wanted.

That is why we signed up so many youth team players.

The key is to have a good Academy that will produce players that will fill up the gaps and produce starting XI players. That is something Rafa didn't had for five of his six seasons. That led to many cheaper players being signed as I said instead of going after the more expensive star players.
