Thanjk you.

What will people say if we get a new manager in, then against Man Utd we have Agger and Fabio on the bench. Konchesky at LB. Stevie G at CM. Set up with a 442. Sit back. And we then get stuffed by the Mancs?
Would it be a large does of Deja Vu?
Because for weeks/months we've been going on about how obvious it all is about what needs doing. What if it still doesn't get done?
How gutting would that be?
As long as we don't get another manager who says he doesn't expect us to get in to the top half of the table in his first 19 games, as it'll take longer than this to get his ideas and style of play across
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Thing is, I get that it takes time. As long as the new manager has us playing positive football I'll be happy enough.
Like has been said it's not the fact that it will take time for us to get back challanging at the very highest level, it clearly will. Maybe 2-3 years.
The problem with Hodgson is as a manager part of your job is to inspire your players and the fans, make them believe. Not talk about "historic" victories over Bolton, how you would have been in "utopia" if we had got a result again everton, and how Fulham at Anfield would be a difficult game as they've lost less games than us. He see's nothing wrong with this.
If a manager comes in who clearly has us going in the right direction, trying to play positive football and who inspires faith within the squad and the fans then most people will give them time.

It does take time, but I think with the quality we have in the squad, regardless of players ability to follow tactics we should be achieving certain standards, and we aren't doing that at present. I'd be happy to give a new manager time but I still think we should be in the top 7 teams in the league a height we haven't reached once under Hodgson

Successful football. It's at the heart of LFC for me.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Personally I'd be happier winning trophies. Don't really care how pretty the football is.
It was rarely pretty with Benitez.
I meant initially. I don't expect us to challenge for the league staright away, but I do want to see entertaining football prtty much from the off.
would I rather win or be entertained? I'd rather we win. But there has to be one of them present for a manager to get the fans onside and of to a good start.
If you have the likes of Cole, Kuyt and Maxi out wide you have to have them as more a part of a front 3, or up level with the deeper striker.
None of them are wingers and so struggle in a 442 or a 4411 IMO.
Fair point bud but as Gary Gillespie and Jason McAteer were saying on LFC TV the other night - the modern day football fan can get too worked up about formations. Everything is broken down to the extreme and that's not always a good thing.
It's all about movement in them attacking positions, from wide and in more central areas too.
Overal tho, i think it's fair to say we need another proper out and out winger.

Precisely. The dutch didn't worry too much about formations when they were playing total football.
