How on earth can an experienced football manager, who obviously knows his ability to do the job is being judged in the negative by the club's entire fanbase come out with this? It is just mind boggling. In his position you've got no room to make any other errors, never mind an astonishing one like this. Just heard on the radio his time in charge being compared with Gullit's time at Newcastle, which says it all really. An absolute disaster of an appointment.

I checked a few other forums what they think about Roy's latest utterly bizarre comment.

More or less everyone HATES him. Not just don't like him or want him sacked. They HATE him.

I thought that I never would see the day when we Liverpool fans hate our own manager. Sometimes we don't like him but hate him.

Roy you really succeeded to turn the fans completely against you so you will end you job as Liverpool manager on a high because you succeeded with something.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted Wayne Rooney's desire to leave Manchester United could mean his star striker Fernando Torres is targeted by their arch-rivals.

"I think I'd have to say we'd cross that bridge when we come to it," said Hodgson when asked about the threat of United possibly trying to sign Torres.

"I am pretty sure when a great player like Wayne Rooney is looking to leave his club, Manchester United will be in a position to target an awful lot of players around the world.

Exactly... try to atleast exude a little confidence, that the club he's at now...lfc..are more than capable of not only keeping but signing top class players in the near future....and not instead sounding like we are....omg omg sooo scared of big nasty utd!!

There are far too many people at the club, that are able to offer advice on club protocol, surely??
