yeah heard this - and i really don't want to turn it to a roy rafa debate.....but i watching inter yesterday and during 2nd half - around when into were 4-1 up, down on the left hand side that young lad inter had playing sort of left mid, had a ****ing great game can't remember his name?? - anyway he got the ball near the touch line - and there was three or four passes being played between a few inter players...he passed the ball, and immediatley stopped and turned away from the play to look at benitez - who gave some instructions, the lad nodded, and straight away turned back toward play and moved a lot more infield.

I just thought wow....a manager has given a player instructions and he responded immediatley

It pisses me off it really does, Hodgson the manager is a myth, all this ****e about his experience in the game..he's old is all, won nothing at all of note..after all these years, makes me sick it does when i hear some english pundit going on about what a great manager he is...with the next comment usually being some dig at how bad Rafa was...absolutley mind boggling stuff.

It was Coutinho but he'd actually been given the instructions by Santon when he came on and then he walked around not understanding what he'd been told, Chivu then told him twice what he should be doing before as you said Rafa told him and he then understood. I found it quite funny and he did play pretty damn well didn't he?

He got the best manager around to take him to the top. Rafa is excellent turning good players into excellent ones. Hid that at Valencia and he did it for us.

Rafa's problem is that he can't turn an average player into a very good one.

Well not really lets be honest. I know your the most staunch Rafa supporter out there. Did you know how good that team was before he took over? There were excellent players there before he arrived, the were the were the nearly men under Cuper losing "2" consecutive Champs League finals.

Rafa came into one of the best squads in the world at that time and didn't even need to buy any players, he bought Mista who only materialized few years later but he had such a top side that he didn't need an additions.

He did a fantastic job, gave them the direction they needed and ultimately they were a better team under him, but you leave out some very very important facts when you talk about his time at Valencia, very selective.

And 99% of time it is to do with Rafa, LFC forums have been at war with each other over this particular topic for few years now. I have no problem with banter but some folk wanna get personal.

He didn't make them better players. He got the team playing as a team. The average players didn't got any better but the the big talented ones was made into stars. Gerrard, Carragher, Xabi, Agger, Reina, Torres, Mascherano and Arbeloa for example.

Then we have players that isn't big talents but still good players like Cisse, Baros, Babel, Riera and Riise that didn't got any better.

I think the reason is that you must be a player with very high game intelligence to understand Rafa and get better.
