Still, 48-52 makes it fairly even. Also, I'm (quite) sure very little of their possession occured within our defensive third at this point?
Sky sports made a comment that most of that possession was between Terry, Alex and Mikel in their own third of the pitch.
    One tit for another.

Taped the matched, watched it again, so if the graphics on the screen tell the truth that's it. Also, after 30 mins it was 51-49 in our favor.

I'm defending him staunchly, where did you get that from? Thats the first i've heard of it.

I thought i was giving credit where credit was due, just as i have gave criticism where criticism was due? Its called balance, no?

But at any point in a game, they are capable of putting a move together, getting a final ball right or one player producing a bit of magic for them.

Put it this way, at 2-0 up, the only time i would feel ok about us retreating to the edge of our own box against a side like Chelsea, would be from 75-80 mins onwards. Not for the whole 2nd period.
I totally agree. The thing is that you could argue it is harder for a team to score when the opposition are committed to defending a lead. And so it proved.

Say we had taken a few more risks and opened the game up, it would have been easier for Chelsea to break us down. Attack is the best form of defence - sometimes. Not at 2-0 up (I would argue).

But there we are. On this occasion it worked for us. As you say, on another it might not. Regardless, Roy deserves credit for this victory, because you can be sure he would be taking plenty of stick if we'd lost.

Also, after 66 mins, the stats for possession in the first 20 mins of the second half said 36-64.

              God I'm bored.

I dunno, the bits about talking ****e under pressure, massively underestimating the job in hand, messing up and ****ing up...I just made a connection there, that's all.

                No offence intended, GDP.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Well there we go then. I remember seeing the possession stat at 40-60 to them after 10 mins, but they pretty much dicked about in their own half. So in 20 mins we reversed that. As I said, when both teams were following plan A, we were matching them (at least) in terms of possession. So reading too much into the final stat is misleading.

Haha i sense the sarcasm, nah i have openly criticized the man, just don't see the need for the constant torrent of abuse. Roy is learning what it takes to be the manager of LFC (for time being anyways)

If we lose it has been due to him, so if with win ......

                            And no offense taken NYILY
