Ok, I'll be a bit clearer then. By getting knocked out of the European Cup, FA Cup etc and our league position last year Rafa gave the board justified (for the sake of this one argument, not a broad discussion based on prior performance) means to seek his dismissal. Had he finished 4th that wouldn't have existed. It's easier to get rid of someone and to take dissenting opinions on board when performances aren't there to refute that.

So, just to be clear, what I said was regardless of how big your balls are if performances aren't there then you leave yourself open to arrack from others. That's what happened to Rafa. And that was my point. Had we finished 4th there is no way on earth the board could have got rid. We finished 7th so they felt they could get away with it.
I had to stop at ''justified''

If you could bullet point those reasons then i'm all ears

The Media in the main appointed the ''Englishman'' with a future king to the throne agenda (England Job)

A sizeable portion of our support swallowed it hook .line .sinker

    We're reaping what we've sowed

The irony for me is our Europeen Cup winning manager went to the current Europeen Champions

We got someone who'd got to one UEFA Cup Final in 35 years and presided over a team who scored 39 league goals in two seasons

There's your irony (unfortunately) right there

    Thanks Christian

It's as if they just lost all belief after that so close season.

Time to take a massive decision and embark on a proper rebuilding programme.

Start by getting rid of Roy, bring in a new man with new ideas, English or foreign, I don't care where he's from.

Then let him rebuild the squad using Reina, Agger, Gerrard and Torres as a spine. Possibly retain some of the rest of the 1st team squad as back up to the actual 1st team but any reasonable offers for any of them we should except to aid with the rebuilding.

Get new players in who didn't get so close yet so far in 2008/2009 and who weren't around when all the **** with H&G was going on.

New manager, new ideas, new squad, new atmosphere, new morale.

Spot on mate. Nothing wrong with the spine of the team. As good as any in Europe IMO.

I trust that they will make the right decision, hopefully sooner rather than later, but i feel they came in,are learning the game and they way things work, and obviously they don't want to make any rash decisions. So they have giving Roy a period of time to prove himself. It'll come to a head soon enough if this epic nightmare carries on, surely they have to draw a line under it soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Roy got up until January, and then his future will be assessed. I would 100% not trust Roy with our transfer budget, the players we buy and sell are literally going to have to be 100% spot on, and you'll have to forgive me for feeling a little concerned with Roy's strike rate thus far at the club.

Roy is a nice man and the good manager at a certain level, but IMO he completely underestimated the LFC job, i think he jumped at the chance without thinking about the situation the club was in and the stress the fans were under, and what it takes to command the position of a Liverpool F.C. manager.

He is clearly a man under immense pressure and from day 1 each press conference has deteriorated, i do think everything he says is over analyzed on here, Roy could be talking about cardboard and people woul still find a way to twist it around but he really has said some stupid ****, that have lacked the class and integrity that should come with A LFC managers position.

My question is, what is it going to take for NESV to sack Roy Hodgson?
I can't justify wanting my team to lose, EVER! But this winning a few, papering over cracks and then inevitably dropping points is not going to do the club any favours, IMO it just prolongs the inevitable.

I'd like to think NESV, and their team have a good idea of the general consensus of LFC supporters, i trust that they want what is best for the club and i'm sure that they will make the right decision in time, but seem to be giving Roy what they consider a fair crack of the whip under difficult circumstances, so i think we're gonna have to put up with Roy for just a little while longer.
If we lost On saturday against Weest ham i reckon he will be sacked. If not we then have Spurs away (loss) villa home( win) newcastle away( draw)

that would firmly put us in in mid table at christmas......and really think they wouldnt have any choice but to get rid.

I know what you are saying but we haven't done quite what I'm suggesting.

What we did this time was bring in a new (old) man and just tinkered with the squad as it was thought to be good enough.

What I am actually saying is, strip the damn squad, get rid of the majority of them if possible, which in doing so gets rid of the possible mindset in those players from around 2008/2009, and rebuild around the four I mentioned.

He's gone through the goals as well, but i'm at work and don't have time to translate the whole piece.

Found it interesting that 35% of goals against come in first quarter after the break.

What amazes me is that a man who has managed Inter Milan is shocked by the level of media attention and shocked how everything he says is over analysed. It's not like he's suddenly gone from conference football to the premier league.

If he doesn't know how to deal with the media now he never will.
