So what happened to Rafa when he decided to wait and see when it comes down to Carragher's contract?

Yep, sacked. Carra got his new deal..........

You are kidding yourself if you really think that.

Any manager who comes in and drops Carra to the bench and wins games in a row, will get the supporters' backing. Same with Gerrard too.

The only thing is, Gerrard still brings a lot to the team, Carra doesn't. And no one here thinks that they hold all the aces as to whether they play in the first XI or not.

Again, he wasn't sacked because he didn't want to give Carra a new contract. He was sacked for his failings and guarantees.

Not sure again. It's easy for them to wield influence when things aren't going well. With better players in key positions and a manager with more assertiveness and authority we'd win more. We don't have the all British mentality of the past and a new board based on business acumen and statistical analysis will pay less credence to them. In short, the better the squad and more we win the less they can influence proceedings off the pitch.

Funny that randomly out of no where a couple of players didn't want him there after spending 6 yrs with him.

Rafa had his share of mistakes too which led to him being fired.

We need to get rid of Roy, Carra and Gerrard. Then a new manager will have a fair chance to build his team around his tactics.
Sums it up for me. Tho I'd start by demoting SG from Captain (giving it to Pepe) and see how he responds. Carra needs to go tho. Too much billy big bollix from him.

Which is easier to do when you finish 7th and get knocked out of every cup early doors. Had he finished 4th he'd still be here and would be able to shop till he dropped in jan and the summer. Having balls is one thing but you need to win games too!

                    That's bollocks, i'm afraid.

A proper strong manager picks his own team and people deal with it.

Much as i hate ferguson, he's an example of someone who is his own man and drops who he likes. These kind of managers do exist.

The idea that we need to sell the greatest player we've had for decades, is utterly utterly absurd. You dont sell your best players - you get a good manager who knows how to best utilise them.

Now I'm a great admirer of Carragher (as a man and player) but there has been a few rumours doing the rounds regarding him (nothing to do with his personal life) and frankly it is becoming increasingly difficult to carry on supporting him

IF he has said the above then that is the final straw for me
Not one person is bigger than Liverpool, and he should know this.If he has a future with LFC he need to realise this and support the club like we all do and not one individual (Bodgson) anyone with a little bit of football knowledge now must know the the current manager has to go, and when I mean go I mean ASAP today if this could happen. I have a lot of time for Carra but if he was one of the main villians in getting rid of Rafa and getting this tool in charge then he has to take the brunt of the fans anger, and this anger will get louder and stronger asa the days and weeks progress.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

FFS sake you really don't know why he was sacked so please try to stop proclaiming it with such authority. It certainly wasn't a logical decision given the fact we were never going to get someone in with his level of ability.

So even if his one season of failure was the reason it was still the wrong decision...unless there were other things going on, like player unrest, personality clashes inside the club, politics, etc. Reasons like these might explain the decision, make it more comprehensible, even if they don't mitigate the disaster that has ensued.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I honestly don't know who we could get in at the minute. Hiddink would be good and there are one or two whispers that all is not well in turkey at the minute. I wouldn't go english again as they are all **** and their tactics are in the stone age.

If i can again, and try and give my opinions on James Lee Duncan Carragher a bit of balance

Loved him as a player ... his 10 years service ... the high points , the low points ... i'll take them all for Istanbul and his '' never say die '' attitude,

The mental strength to come back from that horrific leg break even better

A fabulous ambassador for Liverpool Football Club and his consumate professionalism and contributions in putting us back with the Crem' de la Crem'

His tireless work for Charity and most recently ,the 23 Foundation specifically

His invaluable work in the local communities with the next generations to come

His help in getting the '' Free Michael Shields '' shirts on the players in the warmups of a home game a couple of seasons back

His donation to Andy Burnham (but i won't stray to much into the political fields)

''15 minutes that shook the world''

                            All this and more

However ... everything that i've posted earlier is true to my knowledge and gives me no pleasure in posting here or anywhere for that matter

As i said earlier , it wasn't what i signed up for as a Liverpool fan but i won't be blind to what i am seeing and hearing

I wouldn't do it for anyone else and i won't make exceptions here

Read something recently about Rafa's methods being too intense and they just wore the players down

                              I could well believe that

Now we are in a situation where senior players have influenced a managers future and the appointment of a new manager

That needs to be nipped in the bud asap

They should not be having that sort of power
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Right, so Rafa guaranteeing us 4th spot and finishing 7th and being beaten by lower league teams in the domestic cups had nothing to do with him being sacked!

Blimey, what a cunt I am for saying that those were some of the reasons that got him sacked and add to that his constant bickering about the owners(which was right but no owner likes to be slagged off by his employer).
