Well, it's a matter of opinion, isnt it? They may see it differently.

If they 'dont know football' like they've basically said, they might not realise how damaging his tenure could prove to be.

Could things get worse under a new manager? You said yourself, possibly. Then there is the cost of sacking Roy. The potential upheval of replacing key staff. All this and then most likely having to do it again in the summer. We have actually improved of late. Let's see if we can continue to improve eh, rather than plunging ourselves back into a world of uncertainty.

I'd rather see us stick with Roy until the right person is available. Add the money saved to the transfer kitty.

Of course, if the right manager was out there and we could bring him in right away then that would be the dream scenario. It doesn't seem to be the case.

I would also be for a good caretaker manager coming in - Dalglish. Of course, there are plenty of people who are against that, and with very valid reasons.

Anyway, what do we really know? For all we know Dalglish could have been sounded out for the role and rejected it. NESV are conducting their business behind closed doors. Something we've all been craving - a return to 'the liverpool way.' We're just going to have to be patient.
I think Hodgson's already been here long enough for Torres to have made up his mind.

Patience is fine, i agree with it.

It's just going to cost us top players and the ability to bring others in. IMO.

Torres or even other players will seriously consider thier futures in the summer if liverpool dont qualify for CL. If Liverpool dont qualify what chances do we have to attract top/world class players without CL and most importantly hodgson in charge.

I have already written this season off before the first game of the season knowing what hodgson has achieved in his lifetime and the teams he has managed. Without CL no revenue, no top players. In all honestly which world class player would want to play under hodgson, i think think of any!

Anyway im hoping that i am proven wrong becuase i really wish that if we qualify for CL next season we can retain our top players and with a new manager in charge a new fresh start. I doubt the owl will be replaced come summer

The only good reason I can see for being patient is if there is no one significantly better to replace Hodgson.

I'm not convinced by Dalglish's candidacy but if he wanted it, as I've said before, I'd let him do it. Other than him, I can't see us getting someone until the summer.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Frank Rikjaard ticks every box as far as i am concerned

              Young
              Won trophies
              Ambitious
              Available
              Big name
worked with Borrell must be a good thing.....
Attacking Football ( maybe not a pre-requisite but it helps!!)

Maybe they have talked to him and don't like the cut of his jib. Maybe they have some key candidates lined up for summer?

I'm not sure about Rijkaard. He'll do if they haven't got someone better lined up, as you say.

I think what I was trying to say is we might have to accept Hodgson is here for a few months but we need to be absolutely clear we won't have him here after the summer. I don't mind NESV taking their time, getting everything in place and then bringing in the right manager so long as that's what they're working to. I can't believe that's not what they're doing but as long as there's a chance Hodgson is part of the plan then I think we need to keep making our feelings known.

I also don't want him selling our best players, and I include Johnson in that. If players are lining up to go because of him then clearly that lowers the standard of who is acceptable to replace him.

Obviously if they can bring in someone sooner than summer then great.

I can tell you for a fact Bodge is losing us money- cos I was gonna buy loads of stuff after the evil Yanks ****ed off, but I haven't so far cos I've been too depressed and embarassed about our woeful performances under him. Can't be alone in this.

I don't go on other LFC forums. They just don't have this level of informed opinion.

It's just getting better and better..

                        Hodgson wary of Magpies bounce

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson admits he will be wary of the 'new manager' effect when the Reds take on Newcastle this weekend.

Alan Pardew was installed as the new boss at St James' Park on Thursday after Chris Hughton's departure earlier this week.

Some teams get an immediate lift when a new boss comes in and Hodgson is wary of the same effect on Sunday.

He told Sky Sports News: "When a club changes managers sometimes, we all know, that does produce an effect where they play a lot better, maybe then they'd done running up to it.

"As I say, I have no affect whatsoever on Newcastle United Football Club, what they do, how they play, how they approach their business".

"My sole concern is Liverpool and my message to the players would be the very simple one 'that the way we've played this last month or so is the way we must continue playing and then we hope we'll give the opposition something to concern themselves over'."

Hodgson had said he was 'saddened' by the departure of Hughton but refused to be drawn on what he made of the appointment of Pardew.

The Liverpool boss added: "I don't make anything of other teams' appointments, it's not my business.

"I was asked the question about Chris Hughton, I said what I thought honestly, but I don't wish to make any comments about other clubs' business - who they appoint and who they don't appoint is totally up to them.

"I'm the manager of Liverpool Football Club, this is my business and I prefer not to stick my nose into other people's
                        ."

Dave, I'm not entirely sure whether or not I should be agreeing with you here.

TBH I've had a couple of drinks and your post isn't making a huge amount of sense.

                          (It's very good though).

what's he supposed to say, mostar? "only a joke of a club sacks a manager who brought them back to the glory days and replaces him with an inferior model. also, I have ideas about newcastle, but that's not important right now"?
