In some ways chanting for Rafa seems unhelpful though. However, if it means that no one at FSG is left in two minds about the fact that Purslows view of football is out of step with a/ reality and b/ the feelings of the fans then that is fine by me.

There is no point replacing Roy with someone equally steeped in the recent traditions of English mediocrity.

That simply won't happen as long as Gerrard and Carragher play for us. The first thing Mourinho did was to get rid of Raul and Guti. That meant that he got total control something that wouldn't have happened if they had stayed.

We are in the same situation. A new manager must get rid of both Carragher and Gerrard and he must be allowed to do it to show that he is THE boss and no one else.
