I'm very pro-Rafa but I would worry that the apparent problems with Carragher and Gerrard would resurface. In the short-medium term we need someone who will be able to get everyone in the squad performing and working together. If the squad would be happy for him to return then I would be overjoyed to get Rafa back.

We were 16 points better off the season before. Rafa was here for more than just last season and people need to look at the full picture rather than deliberately taking last season in isolation.

I don't necessarily think Rafa coming back is a great idea, but it doesn't have to be taken literally. It's a good way of saying '**** off Roy' without stooping to "we want Hodgson out" type chants...the sort of chants which are so beneath us.

To be honest, i just think that players are generally happy if they're winning.

I dont remember hearing anything about Carra or Gerrard being ****ed off when we were closing in on winning the title 2 years ago.

You were one on the front line shouting for Rafa to be sacked last season, now you have jumped on the Rafa is god bandwagon, laughable.

It's not about him not being able to succeed but it's risk.

Rafa divided the fans in the end (obviously a much better option than we have currently), wasn't exactly loved by the press, wasn't exactly loved by some of our players and certainly won't have got any decent press from the previous board.

For me the combination of these reasons are why NESV won't go near him, rightly or wrongly and I worry mainly about how some of the dressing room influences would react to him coming back - not well I fear.

Shouldn't be about player power but it happens these days as we know to our undoubted cost

Hence I feel someone that can come in with no negative history (I mean this in terms of what I listed above) is the best move for us as a club

Don't get me wrong though still love rafa and he's one of the true great LFC managers

Where have i said 'rafa is god' ?

Stop being such a divvy. Even if you have a valid point to make, putting words into people's mouths when they never said them, is going to completely weaken your argument.

No chance that Rafa will come back as long as Carra and Gerrard still play for us. No chance.

If you want Rafa back then you also must be prepared to let him get total control and sell the players he want to sell even if that is Carra and Gerrard.

He must be allowed to be THE boss and be allowed to be ruthless. That counts to every manager that takes over after Roy.

There have always been a lot of rumours suggesting they have and last time Rafa came in his methods took a while for everyone to adjust to. I wouldn't expect an instant return of the best of what Rafa did with us after his last season followed by Roys ****ing everything up.

If/when any good manager comes in they will need everyone pulling together as it will be a difficult task to get us back up their contending. With Rafa, unlike someone with a clean slate, I don't think that could be guaranteed.

If we can find a manager who wouldnt be a risk, i'll be all for it.

The players wont say a word if we're winning. And as for the press, i couldnt give a **** - but again, if a manager is successful, the press tend to love them anyway.

Now that I agree with - Rafa or not whoever is here should be seen as having a minimum of 5 years, absolute minimum and needs to build their own way.

If they decide to sell certain players for their vision of moving the club forwards then fine!

Of course he should be allowed to sell whoever he wants.

I dont subscribe to this theory of Arn's though, that Rafa and Gerrard have practically got each other's faces on a dartboard.

That's the main problem, who's to say old red nose wouldn't come in and be an abject failure - everyone will be a risk I guess (obviously a step up from Roy though!)

True, footballers are always happier when winning
