I don't think the point is moot, Neil. The fact is that for the first time he potentially has resources available that he could only have dreamed about when he was managing pub teams in Iceland. We spent last year saying our squad wasn't good enough and you could argue that it's weakened further since he came to the club and, erm, oh yeah

I suppose what I'm saying is that I'm resigned to having him here till the summer. The concern is that if he turns things round dramatically from January onwards there could be an argument for an extended stay at the club so...

Lets say we get to an FA Cup Semi-Final, come 4th or 5th and win the Europa League. Would Roy still deserve the boot?
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

"It may take some time - hopefully sooner than later, hopefully this year rather than next or next year rather than the year after.

        does that even make sense?

WAYLTATH is up to 65,713 posts over 1643 pages

(and I think that includes some 100 or so posts being removed when we stopped talking about music and for some reason started chatting about football)

Lets say I go out to the local pub tonight to watch the match and manage to pull Kelly Brook take her back to my place and do the honours with her

Kind of a moot point really considering I live in Liverpool, am not going out tonight to watch the match and would have to sneak Kelly in past the Mrs

The alternative to my musing is writing a paper on EMA that will make my bosses head explode so I'd ideally like to stay on the Roy thread for as long as possible.

78% - Blackpool (78.0%) have recorded a higher pass completion than Liverpool (77.9%) in the PL this season. Pleasure.
We need to blame someone or it is not the LFC way. PFK

Surely if it was Kelly she'd want to join in. If a meathead like Statham stands a chance then so do you Lec

I can see my hypothetical conundrum is really grabbing everyones imagination.

Just to be clear, you're saying still sack him. The League is wide open if we can throw some results together and we don't look utterly horrible in the Europa. I reckon the Mancs'll spank us in the cup but the Europa and a top 4/5 League position are more than achievable, despite the August - December 'Operation Sabotage' results. He could easily fluke us up there

Its a kind of irrelevant argument because his form suggests hes never going to achieve that

I dont think he has a prayer of achieving top 4 or winning the Europa Cup for a start hes going to have to win some away games to finish top 4 (which his record suggests is unlikely)

Yes yes, but if, IF we qualify for the champs League, win/or go far in the FA Cup, and WIN the Europa League

                        Then what?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

you missed a bit in the second paragraph. you missed that you'd have to convince her to come home with you. moot point maybe but my guess is that'd be the biggest obstacle of the lot to it happening...
