Cheers Si. My research has led me to conclude that 1) The close relationship between football and reality is so unshakable on this matter that folk realise that the discussion is moot or (2) people don't want to think it's possible as that may mean keeping Roy in place or (3) people don't want to discuss it because then they'd have to say something like 'We could win the league and I'd still want rid cos I just don't like Roy, or in my case any old people.
But still, baffling that the hypothetical situation of 'If Roy was to do enough to justify not being sacked would you still want him sacked?' question is so actively dismissed. It's almost like people are willing us to lose a load of matches just so we can sack Roy, no?A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

At least the owner don't let him decide who we will sell and buy. Also of course points to that he will be sacked before the transfer window.I need to know at some stage that I am having a bit more input into who is coming into the clubStop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

One of those non-events is at Anfield where already-through Liverpool take on already-out Utrecht. Tonight's tie might be about as appetising as alfalfa Pot Noodle, but the competition formerly known as the Uefa Cup has provided poor old Roy Hodgson with some respite this season. The Liverpool manager has often had a haunted look about him, but he's now beginning to resemble the Amityville House, all flapping curtains and ominous creaks. No wonder he's taking solace in the club's unbeaten European run.
"This is a club with a great legacy, a club which expects not just wants to win things and certainly in Europe where we have been very successful," said Hodgson, who will start Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina against the Dutch side. "I do feel the pressure of that legacy and as a result I am really satisfied I, not wanting to be the Liverpool manager who didn't get his team into the knockout stage, have had the courage to do what we have done in Europe. If I could be as satisfied with our 17 league games as I am with our European games I would be a very happy man."
You would imagine that Utrecht one win in seven in the Eredivisie and bottom of Group K probably aren't the side to soil Hodgson's security blanket. But, then again ...

Even if he did enough on the pitch to justify his position and at this stage that would involve
a) top 4 finish
b) winning Europa or FA Cup
you also have to take this into consideration
a) Awful transfer record
b) Awful Tactics
c) he is a buffoon of the highest order
d) he lacks respect
e) PFK and Poulsen
f) genuine fears of Alzheimers
g) he is a loser with a loser mentality
h) Away record
so when you take that into consideration I would take a sustained amount of losses to ensure he was gone as none of the above would change with winning run_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

I have to be honest, I hate the fact he is manager of LFC. I would happily see us lose every game until he gets binned. I've had enough of his ****e tbh. The crap he comes out with in Press confrences. The ****e he wants us to sign, the way he plays down expectations so that we should be happy with midtable. Coming out and more or less saying that we can forget about 4th. What a ****ing ******.
If you are fortunate to get the Liverpool job, at least act like one even if you're not. If you tell the media (and therefore the fans and the players) that your side is not good enough, that they can't come fourth, then people will start to believe that. It's day one basics. **** knows what they taught managers 35 years a go, but in this present day it's build players up.
No wonder are team is playing like a bunch of cunts. Because the cunt in charge is basically telling them they aren't good enough.
The only thing worse than him being in charge for the rest of this season, is the thought he could be here next year as well. I can EASILY imagine him winning just enough games every now and then to just keep his head above water.Forwards.......

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson believes that the club's new owners understand that bringing Champions League football back to Anfield will be a difficult task.
On Monday, owner John Henry had labelled results so far this season as “unacceptable”, and although Hodgson agreed, he believes there will not be a sudden reaction by NESV that could signal the end of his reign at the Merseyside club.
"The owners are very intelligent people and have a very clear vision. What they want is for the club to be in the top four," Hodgson said.
"But what they also realise that coming in when they have come in [buying the club in October], and me coming in when I did [July], it might not be quite as easy as all that.
"It is not a question of waving a magic wand and we are going to get there.
"There is a lot of work to be done and I need to know at some stage that I am having a bit more input into who is coming into the club so I can take even more responsibility for it.
"At the moment I am working largely with the team who have been here for a large period of time but I am happy with that and the work those players are doing, I am not complaining in any way.
"But the owners know there is work to do in every area of the club, not least in terms of recruitment and it will be interesting to see how quickly we push that on.
"The quick fix may not be the right thing, it may be a more patient approach and they mentioned that.
"It may take some time - hopefully sooner than later, hopefully this year rather than next or next year rather than the year after.
"With the owners' help we will get it 100 per cent right because we will improve the team as well.
"Everything for me with the owners has been 100 per cent positive, they have been absolutely excellent."
Meanwhile, although Liverpool’s form in the Premier League has been indifferent this season, their recent results in Europe have been more positive.
The Reds host FC Utrecht in the Europa League on Wednesday night, having not lost in nine in the competition and already qualified, topping Group K.
And Hodgson feels that the results in Europe have helped ease some of the pressure so far but now understands he has to deliver.
“This is a club with a great legacy, a club which expects - not just wants - to win things and certainly in Europe where we have been very successful," he said.
"I do feel the pressure of that legacy and as a result I am really satisfied I, not wanting to be the Liverpool manager who didn't get his team into the knockout stage, have had the courage to do what we have done in Europe.
"If I could be as satisfied with our 17 league games as I am with our European games I would be a very happy man."

His PR skills are truly pathetic. Desparate need to justify his own appointment.
