I think you're forgetting the other side of the equation. If you had been running Liverpool FC for ten years and had enormous experience of and a management structure adept at running businesses, then don't you think that might offset some of your limited understanding about how the game is actually played? They don't need to understand the intricacies of the laws of the game, they don't need to be fans - they need to be able to make business decisions.

Lots of business people aren't consumers of the products or services their companies sell but that doesn't necessarily make them incapable.
perhaps nesv's biggest failing is that they are affording hodgson too much patience when clearly he isnt the right man for the job.

thats my only point here. their lack of understanding about the game and our traditions is why are they giving him so much patience. i think 99% of fans realise that he cant take us forward, most of the pundits realise that a guy used to working with ponies cant all of a sudden be put in charge of arabian thoroughbreds.

only sky are still backing him because they realise that there is no bigger story than watching liverpool play in the championship next season. there's a reason andy gray is in the sky box and not out there in the real world managing football teams. the guy is clueless and cant see beyond the attacking third.

the longer hodgson stays the more damage he causes. its really that simple, yet from the outside it looks like he's inherited this mess, that its all rafas fault and he's the one paying the price. its all sky bollocks perpetuated to serve their own agenda.

rafa didnt sign poulsen, konchesky. he didnt sign meireles without knowing where to play him.

nesv are still outsiders sitting across the pond. to them none of this looks like roys fault.

United have shown that even with a less quality side proactive defending in midfield (Andersen and Carrick being particularly prominent) along with a bit of width is all that is needed to consistently counter pretty much all the teams in the division.

I can see the arguments against a caretaker but i don't agree with Lawrenson that we couldn't find someone who would do the basics well enough to improve our position during January.

His 35 year old methods are outdated

I don't think he can really cause much more long-term damage by being here than he already has (assuming he goes at the end of the season).

I don't think NESV have any doubt about how useless he has been. They didn't appoint him, they just don't want rid of him yet. I'd guess that's because they want to hire someone in the summer.

The question is what's the job they want him to do. Of course he's not up to winning the league, or qualifying for the CL. From here survival will do - no-one taking over would really be able to do better I think. So he's not the wrong man for that job. Of course it's not what we all want the manager to achieve but we are where we are and we have Purslow and the previous regime to thank for that.

As for a media vendetta against LFC, I don't buy it. Of course Gray is a cock but I'd be surprised if NESV paid more attention to him than to the likes of Evans and co who have recently come out so strongly against Hodger. Anyway at this point I expect they pay more attention to the fans than the media.

          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

And continuing to lose games because of his ineptitude? Hodgson is damaging our club further with every passing game.

**** me that made me laugh. I nearly died at the Sammy Lee bit. Point is, he's now just a figure of fun. Can you imagine ANY previous manager being subjected to this?

I cannot stop laughing at it but you're dead right. I'm slightly ashamed to be party to it.
