That's just it, they're not real Liverpool fans, they don't even have a basic knowledge of the club in it's current status (the comment about NESV hiring Roy proves that), yet they see fit to comment as supposed experts. It's ludicrous.

Most of them don't have an agenda they're aware of. They just, as you say, don't have a clue.

The journalists are a different matter.

I realise Icelanders might not have a massive interest in Ashes cricket so this probably won't mean much to you but listening to Test Match Special has made me more aware than ever of how absolutely terrible football pundits are.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

TBF it was Keegan who said it.

Clearly the British lads are rallying together. British jobs for British people and all that crap.

Neil, that's putting it mildly to say the least But what is really sad is that some of our pundits and "journalists" just lap up everything they hear on Sky and ITV so this is highly contagious.

Hodgson: Keegan feels he can turn it around

Liverpool legends Kevin Keegan and John Barnes have insisted that under-pressure Roy Hodgson can survive as Reds manager.

Wednesday night's 3-1 Premier League defeat at Blackburn could spell the end of Hodgson's short tenure, with reports last week suggesting new owners NESV were actively pursuing a replacement.

But Keegan and Barnes are adamant the 63-year-old still has time to turn it round, starting with Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie at Manchester United.

Keegan said: "In one word, yes, of course he can.

"The opportunity comes at Manchester United to get back on track.

"It's a tough one. Liverpool are a big club, big expectation, underperformed over a number of years - way before Roy Hodgson went in there.

"The decline at Liverpool has not just happened in the past three to six months. It's been going on for a period of time.

"They've got to give him time but it's the one thing you don't get, as we all know. The clock ticks on the wall and managers don't get time.

"They thought he was right four months ago and he did a great job at Fulham, so they've got to back him.

"They chose him - they've got to back him."

Barnes added: "You know what football's like. It's results driven and pick up some results and the tide changes.

"As much as Liverpool aren't doing well now, if they put some results together, beat Manchester United in the FA Cup, hopefully, and then do well, things change.

"But in football, generally speaking, if you lose, you're going to be under pressure, particularly at a big club."

                      .

                          Who said that???

Underperforming be ****ed, we've been overachieving on the whole. 2nd the season before last, some superb runs in the CL...what do they expect with a squad of players that at its peak was still worth almost half as much as the other clubs we found ourselves rubbing shoulders with.

Totally agree. Two years ago, right now we were top of the league. 5 years ago right now we were reigning champoins of Europe. Got no time for those ****in morons

Indeed. Imagine the general press reaction had it been Rafa who was overseeing such results.
