replacing a manager is a massive decision that will impact the club positively or negatively. There are players that got played by Roy and ones that loathed him.

I actually think that they had a strategy in place to replace roy once the new CEO was in place and certainly did not expect performances to deteriorate to such an extent.

If they are finalising the choice of CEO I guess that unless it is an internal who will take the role, this whole situation with an incumbent CEO and with a potential management change is very very sensitive.

I think that it is very important that no matter how much stress and furore is around, the same calm methodical approach is taken towards any key decision making.

Personally I am releived that the owners appear to be trying to do things the right way, rather than reacting to pressure.

however I just hope they realise that sacking Roy is the right thing to do.

I guess that today will be spent negotiating his settlement and that of his replacment before any announcement is made.

I do however expect Roy not to be in charge for the Man Utd game.
      Hope you are right

I have sat on the sidelines whilst some have criticised NESV but it really is now critical they get rid of Roy

Any further delays could seriously damage their relationship with the fans AND damage the club long term

Even if it is not the ideal time (in their eyes) to make the decision I think they will have to

it is. Look at Henrys background i am sure he knows a thing or two about calculating risk.

no damage is irreperrable if you have the correct resources and plan. It might look bleak now but i can understand the delay.

it may be they have privately acknowledged that to impliment their vision that most of the current playing staff wont be here so in that case its not at huge cost to them long term.

i am not saying what you said is wrong just putting a different slant on it.

i thought he would be here till the end of the season but now not so sure. i dont think he was ever likely to be here more than a season. The question is the same now as it was a few weeks ago or when this thread was started and that is who do we get to replace him. Now you or I or any other fan/supporter can answer that really easily and all with different answers but actually doing it is slightly more difficult. Also remember they are trying to form a vision at the same time so i think the wait a bit longer approach is born out of lets work out what we want first, this doesnt happen in a day or a post like we can do. Next you have to identify targets and make contact and then get them to come here.

Again i can see why they would have prefered to do all that over the course of this season and appoint in the summer. I think Roy is accelerating this process though.

The TV interview and lack of "Roy is safe" comments say alot to me. we all know the manager is safe is usually bollocks but they are sending out messages and for some they are too subtle, as the only message they want is roy gone. I think we all want roy gone i cant believe that serisously anyone thinks he should be given more time.

but for me the same arguments are valid now as where a couple of months ago its just a heigtened view we have now. In terms of damage done look at how geds squad won the Champions league. Its never all is lost.

I think that the problem is that Purslow is still here. That is the only reason to why Roy is still our manager. He will continue to leak the right things to his mates. The right things means things that suits him and make him look good.

While I don't think they can afford to sit back any longer I very much doubt they're at all relaxed about the situation so I think you need to separate apparent inaction from not really giving a ****.

All valid points and i do agree with them not making rash decisions to a point. But his position was untenable weeks ago, IMO its too the detriment of our club that Hodgson stays on any longer. We might be getting to/or at a point now, that realistic recovery to a respectable position for our club is impossible or highly unlikely & we will finish in a very unflattering position. They seem very reluctant to give Kenny the job, who IMO is in a perfect position to take a temp appointment.

The point i was trying to make in the Transfer Spec thread few weeks back, is that if NESV want to attract the best players to the club and move forward, the league position tells a big story, lack of champs league is a massive draw back, jesus we many no even make the Europa! Big players want to play on the biggest stage, and thats fair enough and we won't be able to offer that.

So we're in the January window now, 4 points from relegation, unhappy players, a clueless manager and owners who have big decisions to make. If you were a top player would you really want to come to us with all these question marks? I never expected us to sign big names in January, more so effective/decent and i was hoping come the summer that we might spend some serious money, but what top name will want to come to us in our state?

I suppose i'm a bit bitter about LFC right now, like many of us. But if we want to attract top players in the summer, getting a new man in immediately and climbing the league for a better league finish come May, in order to attract better players, has to be priority IMO.

NESV may want to wait and try to be sensible about it but there comes a point when a decision has to be made, and IMO that was weeks ago. I'm praying that by the end of the day a decision will be made and we can move on as a club.

His settlement should be given back to the fans who paid good money to be subjected to his **** brand of football.

You know what as well, all this crap about him going after the Utd game. That''s just going to rub more salt into the wounds. He's going to be there smirking with his mate Demento and that's going to be the ultimate **** you to the fans. The idea that we're sending a toothless team to roll over at Old Trafford makes me feel sick to the core. Someone who can at least get the players to behave like men and fight needs to be in charge for that game. I'm fed with the team walking onto the pitch looking like they've got special needs.
