Don't wanna be a gloating ****er but at the time he signed people were posting "he is better than Insua" as though it was a fact, and it got on my tits. He isn't, it's not even close. Konchesky is ****ing ****e, always has been, and should be nowhere near an LFC shirt. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His positional play is absolutely atrocious, he doesn't seem to ever be even near to tackling/blocking/tracking his man. He also seems over reliant on the last ditch lunge to try and mask how horribly out of position he originally was.
Modifying post.

RightOriginally posted by Operation View PostI'm waiting for your elaboration of this claim. It'll need to be good
.
He's alright, but we have been waiting for sometime for this imminent transformation into super-stardom.
I think he's potentially (and is well on the way) to becoming the perfect all-round modern midfielder. He does his job(s) and he does it (them) bloody well. I think he's a clever player, tactically disciplined, works hard, is a team player, great engine, and he keeps the tempo up with two three touches max. His first touch is very underrated, and his passing is v.accurate, and he reminds me of Didi the way he keeps the ball sometimes (I may be alone in thinking this
). I think if we continue to try and be a high-tempo, pass and move team then he will be a vital part of it
He really has suffered imo from being compared to Alonso, the best playmaker in the business, and Mascher, the best defensive mid in the business. I think because we've been used to these two, who are effectively specialists and excel in very specific ways, people look at Lucas and think "what's so special about him?". Fair enough. I also think a lot of his early performances suffered from him not being up to it physically, and he looked anxious (in part due to the crowd, which still annoys me), but he's really matured mentally and physically. He doesn't have jelly legs anymore, he's ready for the pace of the PL
His slick, crisp passing kinda indirectly probes away at defences quickly and efficiently, without ever really being the 'killer ball' (which I think will come in time). I'm trying to stay away from cliches but he does just keep us ticking over with his passing. It's not as effective or as elaborate as Alonso but who the **** is? He has long passing in his locker (see his pass to Carra the other day) but chooses to keep it simple and keep the ball on the deck
He can also really strike a ball, he just doesn't get the opportunity to show it often enough. His goal the other week (can't remember who it was against now
) was brilliant, and his first goal for us was an absolute pearler. He's no Gerrard, we all know that, but he strikes it well imo
I think I'm just waffling now. I like Lucas. I like him a lot

I was never a big fan of Lucas but he had a good game and I am coming around to him.
Bit I agree with most is his decision to pass the ball short. Most of us here have played football to some degree and can agree that its easy to not give the 'easy ball' and look to give the Hollywood ball or to split the defence. It takes self control to take the easy pass and keep onto possession like Lucas does and he should be credited for that.96 Never Forgotten

I think some of the stories are 2+2 and coming up with 5 (I personally think Rijkaard is this)
But a lot of the stuff that is being whispered about player discontent and Kenny having a bigger involvement I think is bang on the money
Lets look at it we have a manager who only a week ago said he was not going to change his tactics that have served him so well for 30 odd years, then all of a sudden he ditches those tactics and does what many people have been suggesting he should
Why the big turn around?
Why is Kenny now all of a sudden scouting all the opposition teams (Blackburn & Bolton)?
I think Hodgson is being marginalised here and it'll take another poor result or so before hes lushed out the doorOriginally posted by Lecter View PostThe approach was definitely different we were much higher up the pitch and pressed higher
That again goes against everything Hodgson has done elsewhere so I think something must have happened to invoke such a changeI think you're bang on the money Lecter. When you consider the way we've played under Roy for the majority of the season, you can't help but think what you said makes alot of sense.imo.Originally posted by Lecter View PostYep I thought it was more like a Rafa system which begs the question
Who suggested / implemented it because I'm pretty certain it wasnt Roy

I thought his cross to Carragher was absolutely pinpoint and very impressive. It's just a shame Carraghers control let him down and he headed it into his own net.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

that miskick in the derby late on were he just took a wild swipe at the ball sums up bombscare for meOriginally posted by Pablo1981 View PostI thought his cross to Carragher was absolutely pinpoint and very impressive. Unfortunatley we all new aurelio is a crock - shocking decision imo to resign him - In the summer, when insua was about to be sold and aurelio released - i was happy as I felt that, in doing so we must surely be signing a top left back and back up. - We ended up with neither - well - i'd argue i'd have konchesky as a second choice left back playing in europa and cup games, as he adds to the home grown quota, but then insua now qualified for home grown didn't he....so i'd rather we just kept him, and dalla valle!!! and saved our money and ****ed bombscare off.
i'd be happy with insua as 2nd choice to someone else who is ahead of him.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
