Anyone who brings out the old line of "he only passes backwards or sideways" need to look at his passes so far today. No "killer balls" but he is the deepest lying midfield so you wouldn't expect any. Quick, forward balls looking to start moves off though.

He can do it, he can also make forward runs it's just normally he tends to sit too deep and pass backwards or sideways hence why he was one of the top passers last season.

On a random note, we need more trumpets at English games. Not the England International types, but watching the Barca - Sevilla game last night they had some nifty Spanish tinged numbers on the trumpet.
