At least he tried to change things earlier than before, which is a sign of progress I think.

And just a thought, we've been nothing short of terrible and we're still only 3 points of Spurs who are 5th. Carry on improving and we could get 4th.

Anyway, what a second half he had. Nobody else can do what he does. Graham Taylor is a genius.

Big chief, they got lucky with their goal but so did we with the first two. A dossena back pass and a pen. But we had other chances and so did they. Lavezzi tore us apart in the first half.

And start of second half they had a free header from a corner that shod easily have been 2-0 and game over.

I still want him gone, but if he can carry on winning games fair play to him, he's doing his job. Style of play this year doesn't matter. Get us 4th place, then allow us to get a top young manager in and he can swan of to England with his rep intact. Win win all round.

I'm not anywhere near convinced Hodgson can get us 4th, but I'll be happily proved wrong.
I'm not a fan of Roy, for obvious reasons.

But I tell you this, if he keeps getting the results, and we made it to 4th place at the end of the season I would keep him. Why would you even want to get rid of him if he achieved that, given the fact our team isn't even as 'full' as it has been under Rafa.

It confuses me, that people would ditch Roy even if he started getting in the results, getting a Champions League spot... I wouldn't be in a rush to get rid of him if he managed that and I think it's disgusting anyone would!

I'm thinking higher if we get some seriously good (and cheap) players in the January sales. Hopefully Commoli's got some gems waiting and now has a big club as a carrot for the players.

Great result, one man show by Stevie yet again, we'd be ****ed without him. 3 wins on the bounce, bet Roy is creaming himself. Delighted with result but dreading the Chelsea game.

Just realised, despite Channel 5's umming and errrrring about it, if we draw at Bucharest, we're through.

Can't fault the effort. The football was horrible though.

Ngog and Miereles should never have missed their chances. I'm sorry but Gerrard's hattrick should have been irrelevant tonight.

But, on the whole, we had that game in the bag and I could feel it coming. Ngog and Miereles should have buried their chances, but unfortunately these are the sh*te players Roy has to work with for now.

Saying that I like Ngog and Miereles but never had confidence they could hit a barn door when it mattered. Thank God for Stevie, had Rafa been managing us we wouldn't have seen him until 60 mins by which time it would have been too late.

Shelvey at the start of the programme said "I was born to play football", well today the pride came before the fall. He was hopeless sh*t, fair enough out of position, but hopeless nevertheless. Poulson seemed like Maradona next to him and Jovanvic tonight. But Shelvey is a great prospect, I just hope his head shrinks back to normal size now.
Are you ill, or just that much of an attention whore? In fact, I'm sorry I replied...
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

You're entitled to your opinion - of course.

I wasn't going to bring Rafa into this, but fine, I find it hard to imagine we'd have seen Meireles on the right, left, or off the front man. The guy is a central midfielder.

Nor would Poulsen be anywhere near the club.

                              Nor would Konchesky.

And I doubt we'd have gone into the game with such an odd system.

But fair do's on Roy saving his hide by bringing Gerrard on at half time.

                                LFC 8pts
                                Steaua 5pts
                                Napoli 3pts
                                Utrecht 3pts

If we draw in Bucharest, they can only match our final points total - and we'd have the best of the two head-to-head results.

So basically, a point in Romania next game, and we're guaranteed to finish at least 2nd in the group.
