Yup Stevie G is a LFC legend, guy is a talisman. Time after time after time he single handily has won us games, its ridiculousOriginally posted by BigChief View PostA few managers have creamed themselves over the one-man-show that is Gerrard. Houllier for one and Rafa's CL and FA Cup victories for another.

Now that Commolli's here I'm a little less worried. Unless of course Commolli's become a sh*t talent scout too, which would be really unlucky. One tit for another.

I don't particularly remember Stevie being easily the stand out player in 2005. But building a team around a top player is what all teams do. They just need a strong supporting cast.Originally posted by BigChief View PostA few managers have creamed themselves over the one-man-show that is Gerrard. Why bring Rafa into this?Originally posted by BigChief View PostA few managers have creamed themselves over the one-man-show that is Gerrard. Houllier for one and Rafa's CL and FA Cup victories for another.
Whilst you're at it, Gerrard became a truly world class player under Rafa's tutelage.
Hodgson is getting the results at the moment, fair enough. I don't believe for one moment that we're improving one bit, I still feel we're utterly pathetic - sorry I'll rephrase this, Hodgson's tactics are utterly pathetic.
Time will tell. He's won a bit more time with 3 wins on the trot. Are we winning?

I wasn't going to bring Rafa into this, but fine, I find it hard to imagine we'd have seen Meireles on the right, left, or off the front man. The guy is a central midfielder.
Nor would Poulsen be anywhere near the club.
Nor would Konchesky.
And I doubt we'd have gone into the game with such an odd system.
But fair do's on Roy saving his hide by bringing Gerrard on at half time.
I am sick to death of seeing Meireles being hopelessly misused. Spends 10 minutes off the striker, then goes out to the right, and finds himself on the left too. If ever there's been a genuinely orthodox, all-round central midfield player, it's Meireles - and yet more often than not he finds himself marooned on the wing. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

You are right, but since we are in this ****ty situation we might as well look at the positive when there finally is oneOriginally posted by Rich View PostYou're entitled to your opinion - of course.

Luis Garcia, if you want one player that pretty much get us that trophy.Originally posted by BigChief View Post
Really?
Olympiakos? The final?
And your petty attack on Rafa is beyond low, it is disgusting.

Olympiakos - two half time subs score then Gerrard gets a cracker. Final, Gerrard scores but Dudek makes a double wonder save, Hamann changed the game, Carra defends like never before.Originally posted by BigChief View Post
