I haven't seen any of Wigan this season so would we be better off with the battling greek instead of Carra or Skertel ? Kelly at LB instead of the Konch ?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

      That ain't gunna happen
Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Joe Cole will both miss the trip to Wigan on Wednesday night, Roy Hodgson today confirmed.

The pair have not recovered from injuries which kept them out of Sunday's 2-0 triumph over league leaders Chelsea.

However, Glen Johnson and Fabio Aurelio could come into contention.

"Soto Kyrgiakos still hasn't recovered from his tonsillitis, Joe Cole still hasn't recovered from a hamstring injury that he's got," Hodgson told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

"Glen Johnson is much better and we'll see tomorrow if there's any reaction to the training session.

"Daniel Agger is out for the foreseeable future. Aurelio is now fit and Ryan Babel is now fit, although I'm still slightly concerned about his heavily bruised ribs and we'll protect him for as long as we can."

Meanwhile, the boss was asked about newspaper stories concerning Pepe Reina's future.

He replied: "There's always spin put on these things. We're very happy to have Pepe Reina and I hope he'll stay a lot longer than the end of the season.

"If at the end of the season he doesn't want to play for Liverpool any more, we'll have to deal with that situation when we come to it, but I don't understand why, seven or eight months from that time, I'm being constantly asked to give my opinion on it.

"My opinion is that he's an excellent goalkeeper and I hope he plays for Liverpool for years and years to come.

"For me, Pepe Reina is one of the most committed players I have at the club. He's one who I never have any doubts about his desire to get on the field, give his best and win the game for the club. That's the most important thing."

I hope Soto with be right for the Stoke game. We'll definitely need him for that one.

I'd be surprised if Roy makes any changes to Sunday's team. Rightly so too.

There is no reason at all to change the team from Sunday.

Kelly would be buzzing if he kept his place ahead of Johnson

I suppose not but I'd be much happier with Aurelio in than sodding Konchesky. To be fair to him he did okay on Sunday but I see him as a disaster waiting to happen. Aurelio should play, but he's been fit for ages and Hodgson doesn't seem to like him (along with Babel, Johnson, Agger).

He did have another knock recently but good point re Aurelio. I enjoyed Sunday so much that I forgot about Konchesky

If Hodgson insists on bringing GloJo back in (which I see no reason to do as he's an arse) then I'd like to swap Kelly over to the left. He needs to keep playing to get his confidence up. We've a real talent there. I know he's not really a LB but he's played there before and done ok

Aye, i'd like to see Aurelio eased back into action.
Maybe give him 20 minutes tonight(if we're in a position to do so) then start him in one of our upcoming matches.

A fully fit Aurelio would be prefered to Konchesky, right?

By the fans definitely, but I'm not sure he would by Hodgson.

I always think Aurelio needs a few games to get himself up to his level of play. It's clearly sensible to shield him a bit as well given his injury record. I think given the circumstances it is a bit unfair to claim that Roy doesn't fancy him.

If it was me I'd be looking to give him the last 20 minutes half an hour.
