The Poulsen substitution was just crazy, why did we bring him on
Absolutely pathetic. None of them are ready to make any significant impact and yet they are brought in hopes of turning things around

I'm sorry, i've just had enough of the useless dickhead. Clueless, talks about 'expectation' as if going to Wigan seeking a win is expecting too much. Well **** off Roy. Just **** off right now. I'm absolutely fuming, i hate the **** and i hate his mentality. The league is dire and 4th place is sat on a plate waiting for us. But this useless ****wit doesnt have a winning mentality, he's a loser of the highest order and i'll not be remotely surprised when Torres & Reina leave. Who would want to play for this utter cretin?

**** RIGHT OFF NOW and leave us with a little bit of dignity and a small tiny chance of 4th place, which would've been a better chance, but for the ****ing poisonous brand of football you've brought to our club. **** OFF NOW before the damage is beyond repair.
I said that before the game. Pretty much everything he says has an escape clause in it. No gutsy statement, no confidence in predicting a win, nothing courageous or bold to motivate us fans and his players. I am very afraid that Nando and Pepe will leave cause if I were them I would not put up with this ****e.

It should also be saifmd that the passing was a disgrace at times. Hard for any system to work when the players can't pass.

However. Once again Roys negative tactics have cost us. Sitting deep and allowing Wigan back into the game. As for his substitutions....... What has Shelvey done to warrant being brought on for the ill Meireles? Why not bring Ngog on and put Kuyt on the right. Then when Kuyt tired, instead of Poulsen bring on Jovanovic.

I know Jova hasn't started well, but neither has Poulsen ffs and at least he keeps the balance of the team right and gives us a chance of creating something. All in all poor tactics and poor substitutions. Lucky not to lose the game.
In my opinion it does not come down to our players not being able to make passes but rather the situation were our manager have decided on a system that is so rigid, that when pressed high there simply is no player near the ball available for a pass. Our players except Gerrard and Torres, and to a degree Maxi/Kuyt seem to have no room for movement on the pitch, which is bound to limit the options available. This to me also explains why Gerrard time and time again have to go collect the ball, because nobody else seems to be able to do it.

Our passing on the back four is however incredibly poor, I agree with that fully.

        Utterly depressing.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

the tactics roy employs are purely suicidal.
we sit back, we allow them to play, we invite them to come at us and we put no pressure whatsoever on the ball until they're in and around our penalty box. we allow them to build up their confidence and the believe that they might win it. hell, we made wigan look like a good footballing side while refusing to play any ourselves.
again, there's nothing wrong with sitting back *if* you put pressure on the ball in your own half and hit them on the counter with pace and deadly precision.
but we hoof hopeful balls upfield or worse just clear the ball anywhere, thus needlessly surrender possession and start all over again.

on the other hand it's us who are easily pressured off the ball. it is us who are unable to keep possession. it is us who are unable to string more than a couple of passes together.
up front it's business as usual: there are no attacking moves that have clearly been the result of training ground work. it's just being hopeful of a moment of magic or a mistake by the opposition. not good enough.

square pegs for square holes? roy's clearly having a laugh. throwing young jonjo in when we were second best on the pitch was always a big ask but ok there's only one way to learn, right? but playing him in a position where he quite obviously doesn't know what to do is plain stupid.
as for poulsen ... well, that left me speechless.

and last but not least - even if 4 points from the next games is what we have to expect it's unacceptable for a lfc manager to publicly say so. we always *expect* 3 points. we always play for the win. even if we know in our heart of hearts that the opposition is superior.
the manager clearly didn't go for a win in his pc and the players followed suit.

"Johnson's not fit. I overestimated his short training session and underestimated what would happen after it the following day, so he wasn't fit.
Well thats reassuring. No matter how good Kelly has been playing he's going to be instantly dropped once that useless player is fit to take over again. Disgusted. I'm also making a new rule, because of time zones and crap, I refuse to stay up past 5am again to watch another liverpool game under this manager. Its just not being done.

I'm so ****ed off tonight, i cant even explain the extent to which i'm furious.

I ****ing hate Hodgson with a passion.

You know I actually cringed watching that performance last night. It was the most dire 70mins of football I have ever witnessed in my 43 years of following LFC.

I thought I'd go to bed and sleep on it feeling a little less hostile towards Hogdson, but that is just not the case.

He is singlehandedly destroying any dignity our team has by playing alehouse football. Why does this moron of a person not accept responsibility for his ineptitude, why are the press so against writing how it really is, never a bad word to say about Roy Hodgson and his ****e house tactics; it is almost as if they revel in the fact he is reducing Liverpool Football Club to the level of a sunday league pub team.

I doubt Reina or Torres will be here next season, if Hodgson will still be at the helm. Reina's comments were made after NESV publicy back Hodgson and stated they'ed hope he was still manager next season. ( But he doesn't fit the NESV profile at all )

If players has so much power in todays game, then I really hope they realise their mistake in ousting a good coach while advocating for a bad one.

They need to man up and use that player power to save the dignity of the this great club, to preserve their self respect as players and any chance of getting back in to the top 4 for seasons to come.

Hodgson needs to go, we cannot wait until a CEO is in place we need action NOW before it's truly too late.

It was really horrible seeing us on the ball as much as it was when we defended. There were so many times when Shelvey for example had the ball and there was so little available in front of him that he had his hands out begging for a pass and had to turn around while defenders closed him. It was horrific that lack of movement and hard to understand how it changed so much.

Passing is the least of our worries frankly

I still go back that to even be a half decent amateur side (ok then a half decent pub team) you have to press the ball, close down the space and win your individual battles

We dont do that in our OWN HALF nevermind in the oppositions half (which imo is where we should be doing that)

We are FAR too passive under Roy, his tactics, his demeanour and even his pre-match interviews have us hoisting the white flag before we have even stepped over that white line

For someone who was supposed to bring excellent man-manager skills his constant berating and undermining of his own players is astonishing
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

We seem to be agreed on his tactics

Have the players forgotten everything Rafa taught them, or has it been coached out of them by Roy? We seem to never, ever, build from the back to gain territory or some sort of shape. And our passing At one point last night Skrtel did a chipped clearance from our left channel to Kuyt on the centre circle - I'm no expert but even i can see how stupid that is. There's no way in hell Rafa would let him do that. Our angles just seem to be all over the place, and it's difficult to watch when it used to be one of our strengths

So when can we start to chant for Roy to get sacked at matches? Would like to hear some "Roy, you dont know what your doing!" chants against Stoke..

Journalist: But with five games unbeaten, Roy, the fact you've got Wigan and Stoke coming up and the momentum that's with Liverpool now, the league table with two wins will look a completely different picture for you...

Absolutely, but unfortunately, if I play devil's advocate, with two defeats it will too. That's how close it is - it really is an incredible year in the Barclays Premier League. Normally when you're a third of the way through, which is about where were are now, you can see which teams are going to struggle to stay up and which teams are going to be the clear champions.

This year I think people are going to be loathe to put too much money on who is going to win it and there will be even less people willing to put money on the three teams who will be relegated because it seems to me from about 20th to sixth or seventh, there is not that much between the teams.

Two matches and two victories can change everything for everybody. Our three victories have certainly changed it for us enormously, so why can't it change for other teams in the league?
                            Are we winning?

                            Comment

Wasn't this reminiscent of last season too? Just when we thought we had turned the corner, we put on a performance worthy of the bargain basket.

Hodgson's tactics are **** yes but we if we're looking to win 7-8 games on the trot we need better personnel.

I think in the long run, showing our deficiencies now could be better rather than playing with momentum and then getting found out at a later stage.

The chances of playing poorly and winning are slim at them moment as we don't have enough special players. Hopefully, this is something nesv will look into for January.

Some really poor performances all over the pitch. Konchesky went missing a lot, Maxi and Kuyt did nothing. Meireles, another great white hope, was completely off his game. Kelly seemed very nervous. Only Lucas, Pepe and Nando come out with any credit. Could have easily lost that.
True, but he came on for the last 10 minutes when we needed a goal, that was enough to bring on someone to have an impact and try to win the game, it wasn't the time to blood a youngster!
