    Konchesky/Insua

Insua was criticised heavily on fan sites last year for being not good enough etc. I always thought that was a bit harsh. He's a young lad who was overplayed due to Aurelio being part crisp, part balsa wood. Anyhoo, Insua was pish seemed to be the agreed view.

Then we get Konchesky. £3.5m plus 2 youngsters and 4 years of wages

I thought Insua going on that ****wit loan was a mistake as at the very least we'd need him for cover.

Surely no-one thinks Konchesky is an improvement on the lad do they? I mean he's not even an improvement on European Cup Winner Djimi Traore. At least he had the pace to get back and attempt to tidy up his **** ups.

    Anyway, that's all.

    Actually it's not.

Insua at least had positional sense, or at least positional sense better than Konchesky.

        I'm with Arn on this.

Insua going out and Konchesky coming in has weakened our squad. That surely cant be denied

He has been an atrocious signing. N'Zogbia was pushed to the right hand side last night and tore him to shreds. For an experienced 29 year old, that was embarrassing.
          Are we winning?

Insua is another example of Liverpool supporters jumping on his back for every little mistake he made.
It's unbelievable that in a season that never got started and ended up with us 7 that most 'informed' supporters chose to blame Insua and Lucas.

Insua at 21 and still learning is twice the player Konchesky has ever been, pathetic to get rid oh him, even more so when you consider Insua was classed as home grown

Insua is a far better than konchesky. Insua could cross the ball, get forward & beat players & also got a fair few assists. Konchesky is truly woeful & I would agree with saying he is significantly worse than Traore. Normally I would say this is my opinion but if anyone does think otherwise, they are deluded.

yes, people forget we lost 2 great prospects, been keeping tabs on Kacanklik as i always thought he looked great the few times I saw him.

Seems to have been doing very well for fulham reserves, better than ldv.

2 of the most wank deals in the history of lfc
aquiliani for a year and 5m for Poulsen

konchesky + 2 youngsters for Insua.

                        Both are liabilities defensively.

                        Insua was better offensively.

The mistake wasn't getting of Insua, as he wasn't good enough, it was bringing in Konchesky, who's actually worse.

To be honest I think that Konchesky and Insua are much of a muchness, but on current ability neither is good enough. Insua is young and would get better, whereas Konchesky is or should be at his peak now so the decision to spend £5m on Konchesky was utter madness in my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of Insua, but I think last season he suffered alot, because he was our only senior left back for large parts of the season, and he clearly needed taking out of the firing line, which was something we were unable to do. I don't see that situation improving if he'd been here this year (Aurelio's injury), and I think his development could have been harmed were he putting in performances like those last of last season and fans were getting on his back.

The bottom line IMO is that neither are good enough, if we'd been able to get a decent left back who wasn't horrifically injury prone I wouldn't have minded Insua as a back up being brought through.

EDIT: the money we spend on Konchesky and Poulsen (~£10m) could have probably bought us a decent left back
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

One thing which pisses me off about Insua leaving is how much work we put into him last season. He gained invaluable experience last year at all levels of football from the Champions League all the way to the Carling Cup. Having had to deal with his inexperiencedness, another club now get to take all the hard work the club and team had put into fostering a young talent.

Insua was sh1te. So is Konchesky. No net change imo.
