I've pretty much seen Silva for 3 odd years and AJ for around a year and a half and though Adam Johnson hasn't been playing of late, to say Silva isn't or hasn't been effective is really not true.

You could go to any City forum and ask this simple question or make a poll, "Has Silva been effective" and most would say yes. A couple of them would even say that he could do their missus in and would still be welcome in their house

If you consider the idea behind what he is saying it isn't such a bad thing. It was probably a little extreme, but at the same time he is pushing Johnson to be better. If he just came out and said Johnson is amazing and is the finished article he could end up with a player who becomes apathetic and thinks he is too good, especially for such a young player.

It's not even just that one article it's a whole combination of things. Taking off tevez for Barry, Dropping Johnson when he is in brilliant form and playing such a defensive line up whenever you have 100 good strikers. Amongst other things.

Silva and Johnson played yesterday. Johnson made some great runs and shot from wherever he could, got nothing. Silva constantly looked for the best pass. Infact Johnson took a shot when a pass to Silva would have seen him with a chance to score. Maybe Johnson knew this thread about Jarvis was coming lol
