I wish one of those Sport Science people would use a Bunsen Burner to set roy's head on fire.

i can see roy finishing out the season, but there's no way i can see him continuing beyond. i can also see him getting sacked before that, mind.

and as far as january goes, i can't imagine we won't bring somebody in. i think the quotes so far have been in relation to the fact that we probably can't start rebuilding the squad in january, and that's fair enough. it would **** up our registration for one thing. i can also see what nesv have been saying as a smokescreen so that we don't get our pants pulled down over prices in january. i think regularly getting ****ed in the transfer market will be a thing of the past. we won't be perfect, but the way we've habitually sold low and bought high under parry et al is over imo.

nesv haven't really had a chance to change much yet apart from roy, which i'm disappointed in, but i think they'll want a new ceo to make that decision for them. they want to be sure they're doing the right thing whatever people are saying or how they might feel about it. i still have complete confidence in them.

You were one of the reasons i initially trusted NESV.

Their passive 'do nothing' approach, is now one reason why i dont.

All this 'we dont talk, just let our actions speak' is quite ironic now, considering how they insisted they are here 'to win', yet their actions have been ****-all.

you're being impatient, which is fair enough because like you, roy makes my eyes bleed. i agree they haven't done much yet, but to suggest that they will continue to do nothing is ridiculous. i think and hope we'll be pleasantly surprised come summer. it's a long ways away though.

still, i hold out good hope for january. if david dein or someone like that comes in, roy will get the sack. nesv are good owners, but they prefer to hire great people to run their club rather than doing it themselves. i kinda get the feeling that they're happy with comolli, and they want to deliver the rest of the club as-is to a new ceo and let him do what he thinks is best.

They show no signs of understanding why urgency is needed, and unless they pull their fingers out of their arses sharpish, then it'll be too ****ing late.

            Arsing about, waiting, dallying, delaying...

We might as well just re-hire Parry.

while i agree with you, i don't think this will be the way things are once they have their management structure in place. they have shown they are dynamic when they can be certain what they are doing. what if you bought a (insert sport you don't know anything about here) team? you'd want some time and some good help before you started making big changes.

if it turns out they are going to bad owners no matter what happens, i will gladly turn on them and link arms with you and chant horrible **** about their mothers. but all things considered, i don't think we have much of an idea as to what things will be like going forward for us.

none of this, btw, have stopped me repeatedly pleading with the owners to sack roy immediately.

just thinking about roy, i start bleeding from every orifice.

You're terrible once you get a bee in your bonnet. You were the same with Rafa when he wasn't doing what you wanted. That isn't really a criticism btw, I know it's just because you care so much

Just try and be patient though, they've only been here 5 minutes. If we're being completely honest with ourselves, we have no way of knowing whether Kenny would do a better job than Roy. We all think he will, but it's a risk no matter how you look at it imo. And yes, Roy is doing more damage the longer he is here, but I think they're looking to sack him and replace him with a long-term successor without farting around with interim appointments. There is simply nobody available at the moment though.

If they've spoken with players, which I think they have, then they could have told them in private that Roy isn't here long term, and that they will spend in the market (which I think they will)

I know what you mean, and i know i'm not taking the logical approach.

But we're going to have another season written off this year, because ****-all is being done quickly enough (despite 4th place bizarrely still being achievable) and then come next summer, we'll struggle to attract quality players because we're not in the CL.

Plus, you'll have had another year of City spending, making them stronger and even harder to try and keep up with - not to mention being another year closer to the Uefa financial fair-play rule....so limiting our opportunities to spend on top class signings.

Any of us who know football, know how crucial this season is. It's ridiculous to say this, but it somehow is still possible for us to rectify the ramifications of our shocking year last season - and get into the top four. The problem is, NESV dont know football and their casual 'slowly-slowly' methods are going to cost us.

Of course i want to be wrong and i hope i am. But the longer they take, the harder the task becomes.

                          1. There is no way in hell they would tell the players he isn't here long term, in fact, if they had that would be worse. It would be suicide.

                          2. They have told the squad it's a long term project. And that is why players will leave. We are ****e now and if we don't out spend our rivals (which isn't going to happen) we will be ****e for a long while yet.

NESV have acted like mugs tbh. I get they don't know football. But had they got a good manager in when they came in we could madly have been title contenders, never mind top 4 chasers.

As it is we'll continue to toil under Hodgson and piss away our top 4 chances with the odd good performance to get all our hopes up. Had City won today we'd have been 9 points off 4th which is a chasm. Lose tomorrow and the gap will be 7 off City and 6 off Spurs. Lose tomorrow and 4th is starting to become a distant dream.

David Ngog and Fernando Torres will start for Liverpool tomorrow against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, we can confirm.

Pepe Reina will start in goal, with Brad Jones on the bench.

Glen Johnson, Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Paul Konchesky form the back-four.

Dirk Kuyt starts on the right wing for Liverpool, with Lucas Leiva and Raul Meireles in the centre.

Maxi Rodriguez keeps his place in the side ahead of Milan Jovanovic, and Joe Cole – who is on the bench.

David Ngog starts to partner Fernando Torres up front for Liverpool, with Steven Gerrard still missing due to injury.

Cole and Jones are likely to be joined by Ryan Babel, Jonjo Shelvey, Fabio Aurelio, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Martin Kelly on the bench.

We cannot yet confirm whether or not stream links will be available for tomorrow’s match.

Starting XI vs Spurs: Reina; Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky; Kuyt, Lucas, Meireles, Rodriguez; Ngog, Torres.
Substitutes: Jones, Kelly, Kyrgiakos, Aurelio, Shelvey, Cole, Babel.

I agree 4th place is attainable, but it depends who we get in January..we just don't know yet, and we seem to be getting mixed signals at the moment. We're in for a winger by the sound of it though, so any half decent signing could give us a massive boost you would've thought.

Again I think City will do a bit of a Chelsea now and calm the spending, much like Villa

Do we know that the 'slowly-slowly' methods are how they do things? I really don't know. There is an argument for really doing things properly and gradually, but I don't think it will stop them pulling of a real marquee signing in January. Just a hunch.
