You're right that sacking Kenny, Comolli and bringing Rodgers in cost some money but our budget still should be fair, given our existing and new sponsorship deals.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI keep saying it but I dont think you can under-estimate the pay-offs we have made in sacking Kenny, Comolli & staff and bring in Rodgers and his staff
We've also just shelled out £4-5 million to get rid of Aquilani and we've signed Borini also
That said I would have expected the increased revenue from Warrior, 3K Battery & Chevrolet to have increased our budget somewhat
Given what Rodgers is doing to Agger and Carroll I am not so sure that we have anything that is worth mentioning.
I don't get that as they (FSG) have to know that we must qualify for CL as if we don't it would be a disaster.
We are in final year of our Standard Chartered contract and I am not sure anybody will pay nearly as high if we don't have CL football to offer.
Still early to tell as we have almost a month to go with the transfer window but the signs are very discouraging.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Standard Chartered added circa £12-13 million per annum over and above CarlsbergOriginally posted by Mostar View PostYou're right that sacking Kenny, Comolli and bringing Rodgers in cost some money but our budget still should be fair, given our existing and new sponsorship deals.

Warrior added circa £12-13 million per annum over and above the Adidas deal
3K Battery deal was £1 or 2 million per annum
Chevrolet is reportedly £3 million per annum
I'd really be interested to see where the increased revenue has been spent
Going back to the pay offs/compensation for Kenny, Brendan etc.. I reckon conservatively it could be £15 million and maybe even as high as £20 million
Throw in the Aquilani pay offs and its upto £20-25 million spent right there in pay-offs alone - thats pretty much counts for all of the gains in revenue
As for the Standard Chartered deal think it ends in 2014 and I wouldnt be too certain that the owners wont find a better deal. They surprised the **** out of everyone with the Warrior deal (including adidas) so I wouldnt put it past themBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. haha, just noticed theOriginally posted by SB View PostBloody hell. I hope it gets more fat buggers off their lardarses.
in your reply to my 'punching above your weight' post.
I did mean that as a genuine compliment btw.
i'm not wrong though am i, for the size of the population and the amount of winning sportsmen and women you have/ or had ?
I've always thought like that anyway, but in a good way as i say, that you did better than you should compared to other countries and their size.

I'm going to try and remain positive from now on until at least when the window shuts. I'm a fan of Rodgers and think he was a shrewd appointment.
There are a number of moves out of the club which when added together look a bit concerning... hopefully we'll bring in the right sort of replacements before the window slams shut. If it means we're getting them at better prices than the bonkers amounts paid out last summer, then I can understand that.
I think we're playing a long game here... we all know how crucial getting off to a good start in the league is, but we seem to be willing to take a gamble on that in order to secure better deals this time around.
There's no real point stressing about football at this time of year - if the last few seasons are anything to go by, we'll have plenty opportunities to freak out over the coming 9 months!
