If I remember right, Agger wasn't guaranteed a spot under Rafa either, and very similar paper reports came out once or twice.

Fair enough then.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostTBF on Agger, he does say that at the moment he can't complain but he wants to start more when he is fit. I have to agree with him, Roy has treated him unfairly so I can understand Agger for being a bit annoyed at him.
‘If I’m not playing in the Liverpool team on a regular basis, then I am ready to move on,’ he said. ‘I have only just returned from three months out injured, so I am in no position, at the moment, to say I must be in the side for every game.
‘But once I have made a few appearances and regained full fitness, I would expect to be starting games. If I’m not playing, I can’t see a reason for staying.’Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

He's 26 years old, an international and a good player, of course he wants to play, he should be approaching his peak. If he's fully fit and is only a bit part player of course he'll want to move to somewhere where he will play regularly, that is the reality of it for any top player IMO.
You can say he's disrespecting his team mates or manager or whatever, I think he's right in what he says though if he's fit he should be playing regularly. Whether he should have said it in public is another matter...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Its crystal clear that he believes he should be playing every game despite cautionary words around just coming back from injury.....he no doubt sees himself as one of the best defenders out there and not just in our squad (whether that's true or not is wide open to debate IMO).
I don't like it when players issue ultimatums in open forum all the same, and the fact its not Agger's first time, shows a level of immaturity IMO.
Roy probably does have issues with him, although the truth of the matter is that we are not privy to all the ins and outs of his fitness reports, so while we may clamor for his inclusion in every team, there could be very good reasons why that is not the case.
Roy will be gone soon, any footballing manger who comes in will be well aware of what Agger can offer to our all round approach, so his time will come around again I believe. But for the moment, he should be doing his talking on the training ground and the pitch whenever he gets his chance. I'm sure if he stays fit and, most importantly, proves himself worthy of a place he'll push on and solidify that position."I will make the boys feel your support"

He is right but there was no need to make it public. Just tell whoever you need to at the club and leave it that. If he cares about fan perception he can tell all at the press conference for his new club. If he stays then there was no point in it ever being made public. Save it for his future book or something.Forwards.......

Fiorentina are believed to be in dicussions with Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to Italian reports.
The 26-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Anfield, but it seems a delay over wages is holding up his departure, although no deal has been arranged between the two clubs.
Transfer market representative Bernado Brovarone has revealed the Italian outfit have outlined a financial package to player, but it seems they will have to increase it substantially.
"The Viola offered the Liverpool player €1.5 million (£1.25m) per annum, but he wants at least €2m (£1.68m) net a year," Brovarone told Lady Radio, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com.
"Also, we have to see what Liverpool says."
