Bump. Looking more likely that he's surplas to requirements. At 29 it could be a decent time to cash in if the money offered is £18m or thereabouts. I think we've always rated him highly as fans but detaching myself it's probably the smart time to sell.

Yup, love Agger but he's on the sidelines and at 29 if we get a good offer for him we should certainly consider it.

Interesting stat. I just looked on wiki and he's only played 160 games for us. Then I looked further and there's only 5 players in the squad that have played more than 100 games. Struck me as quite fledgeling (Gerrard, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas and Johnson in that order BTW)

I wouldnt sell, for me at worst he's still our second best centre back. And it's nice to have a good squad for once instead of the times where we had to use Pellegrino or Kyriakos as our back up options! I get why some would cash in though.

I really rate Agger but it depends on what we have in the kitty to strengthen, we're not far off but a bit more depth in other areas would be handy.

Guess it all depends on the sort of offer we might get

If we want a strong squad we cant keep selling some of our better players just because they have lost their place. It's up to Daniel to win his place back just like Skrtel did last season.

Being an LFC player means you have to prove your good enough not just to sign for the club but remain here and keep your place.

We also have to consider what is best for the squad, if you sell and bring in a younger player with the ability to play at the same level it's a good trade off for me.

I think we would ideally keep him, but if we see Sakho as the future and Agger is on high wages then as others have said, given his age it may be time to move him on. Anyone know what wage he is on roughly?

Sorry Norbs but no way will we get £18m for Agger.

If we got anything more than £10m I'd be surprised. I dont think the top clubs rate him as highly as some of our fans do. I personally think Skrtel is a better defender, each to their own and all that.

There's no point selling him when we need a squad. If Sakho is injured, what happens? Until other players are ready to step up to the plate, I'd keep him.
