But loyalty goes two ways, and of course Agger should get some back, and especially considering he has been in and out of the team for 3 seasons now without bitching and whining. It started under Roy and the last 2 seasons under Rodgers, and with his age he deserves to get a move and regular playing time now. I think he has handled it well tbh. Skrtel didn't whine, but perhaps he would have if he faced the 4th consecutive season? And with a manager clearly not favouring his particular forces.

And perhaps Mirror is no all that correct with the begging etc...?

I don't see why anyone thinks there are sides to be taken here. The reaction appears to be to the phrasing of the headline rather than anything Agger has done.

Thomas Vermaelen: Arsenal agree £15m fee with Barcelona

Arsenal have agreed a fee of around £15m with Barcelona for the sale of captain Thomas Vermaelen.
The 28-year-old Belgium centre-back must now agree personal terms and pass a medical.

I think that's his chances of a move to Barca gone, they chose Vermaelen over him. £15m is an annoyingly good price for a player who's been garbage for a couple of years now.

Look at Skrtel when he lost his place and we were actively looking to sell him a year or two back. Did he cry and beg to leave? Did he ****. He trained hard and won his place in the team back.

I think sometimes because Dan Agger is such a great guy and a genuine Liverpool fan he gets away with being a bit of a whining baby sometimes. Don't want to fight for your place in the team? Want a guaranteed starting spot? Well ****ing earn it then.
                What a load of bollocks.

                Agger has awesome tattoos
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Does the Vermaelen deal make Lovren look a bit pricey?

Not really. One suffers from a lot of injuries and isn't a first team regular and the other one is approaching his peak.

                        I think Lovren is better.

Vermaelen started off at Arsenal brilliantly but since the injuries has never looked the same. The gooners I know always thought he could be targeted as a weak link.

Reckon Agger would do a good job if we played 3 at the back. Gutted when he goes, seems only inevitable now.

Or maybe the other way around, 15 million for 28 year old Vermaelen who's fitness is suspect and isn't first choice or 20 million for 25 year old Lovren who was ever present in Southampton's team and for Croatia.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

No, it makes Lovren look dirt cheap.
