Every other outfield player seems to be accepting **** like this, just not Torres. Maybe they played above their level in years gone by and they've found theirs with Dodgson.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Roy's mentality will be that in yesterday's game we took a positive approach and we lost so that justifies playing more negatively in the coming weeks? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Probably true. The praising of Carra thing really stank. Roy know the two players he need to crawl in the mud for to have any chance to stay.Stop the cyberhate

The fact some fans are happy with yesterday's performance says it all.
They are happy because it's such a big surprise, Hodgson has conned everyone into believing we are rubbish, conned everyone that our squad is filled with average players and keeps going on about having to rebuild etc... etc... so that when we do ok and it was no better than ok we all look to hold on to any positives we can.
The reality is that Spurs had a goal disallowed, we cleared 2 off the line and they missed a penalty.
Yes we missed some good chances and we played well at times but we're Liverpool, surely we should be creating chances wherever we go and playing well against whoever we play against????
Don't get sucked in by Hodgson telling us our club is **** and in a real mess so that we accecpt a half decent performance away to Spurs.
Oh and they played CL midweek, we had a free week to prepare and should have been fitter and sharper.
My hatred of 'Arry Redknapp is up there with Allardyce and Phil Brown but if he was in charge of us we would be doing miles better and most importantly he wouldn't have bought KoncheskyThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Tactics were better in the first half too. Fullbacks pushed on (Johnson in particular) and CBs covering wide with Lucas dropping deep. Seemed to be containing them well with Kuyt helping both wide and adding an extra man in the centre of midfield when needed. Second half pretty much fell back into two lines of 4 and Spurs eventually took advantage.
The misses by Torres and Maxi proved costly but a more proactive defense in the second half would have given us mores possession and them less pressure.

gutting result but even at 1-0 i could feel we wouldnt get anything. spurs are on a bit of a roll ( 4 wins on trot i think ) and seem to have a knack of coming from a goal or 2 down to win games.
we should have had the game wrapped up by half time or just after but torres just doesnt fill me with any real confidence when clean through on goal anymore. and maxi
just when i think he is staring to play well he ****s up 2 great chances ( i trust him even less one on one ) and gives no defensive cover at all. he played okay in the attcking half but there is no width and no defensive side to his game.
hopefully though, the performance yesterday will show the players that with a little bit of composure and beleif we can win away games.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

The Torres body language points to that he has given up.
It is either Roy or Torres and NESV will have to make a decision about that this week IMO.
If Roy stays another week then Torres is gone. As simple as that.Stop the cyberhate

we are the very definition of mid table obscurity this year.
Cant see us challenging for Europa place and can see us staying a few points of relegation as well.

He's been excellent for us since he came into the side, missed a chance he should have scored but give him credit for being in the position to miss it!

Maybe he's looking for the quick break from Reina's long ball, like we used to doOriginally posted by Baracus View PostHe does not care. There is no fight in him for our cause. Thats what the Vid say's to me
In all seriousness though, questions have to be asked about the manager when you have a player who's always given his all, who's played with injuries when he should have been resting (both for us and Spain), who's character is to fight and play his heart out, and who seemed to have an emotional connection with the club up to the summer (and I dont say that lightly about players, for all their badge-kissing) looks so disillusioned.
It doesnt say to me that he doesnt care (because he looks disgusted with the stupidity of the penalty award, rather than not arsed) but it does say that he thinks we're rubbish at the moment. He looks annoyed with how predictable our rubbishness is.
Much like the rest of us.

I thought he put in one of his best performances yesterday, if he'd taken that chance I think many people would have voted him man of the match. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He seemed to be involved in most of our good attacking moments yesterday. I think he's played well for the last few games (or at least those where we have collectively played well).
He's never going to be one to take a game by the scruff of it's neck and win it on his own, but he gets involved in and around the box and his interchanges with Torres (not just yesterday) have look really good and intelligent at times.
