Looks like we'll be without Carragher for a while (let's try and refrain from any "he's past it anyway" comments ja?).

I've no doubt Roy will play it safe and stick with Soto and Skrtel (SAS ) as our pairing. However, I'd like to see Kelly given a chance there. It's supposed to be his favoured position anyway and he's not let us down in his appearances so far (albeit CB is a bit more of a pressure position).

Anyone seen much of Ayala at Hull recently? Heard he was doing well there earlier in the season. Maybe we'll consider recalling him from his loan spell.

Other than that, if we get really desperate we could play Poulsen at CB.

Danny Wilson and Kelly should be considered. Wilson did really well for Rangers last year both domestically and in Europe and played more at CB than at LB.

i think them main problem with carra being out is that there is no one to organise the defence and keep them in line

I'm fairly certain he'll play it safe with Skrtel and Kyriakos, after all "young players get you the sack"

Yeah, but to be honest I don't think it makes a difference unless Skrtel or Kyriakos get injured he won't get a a game.

Aurelio at left back will be a massive improvement. I don't think Carragher's absence will be felt that much to be honest, we're not doing too well with him in the team.

The Greek and Skirts will be Ok, if they can stay injury free. Otherwise we can play Torres there, give him something to do.

No brainer to start The Greek there really, it would be very harsh on him if Kelly came in at CB ahead of him, as he's dont little wrong all season.

I'd probably have Kelly next in line though should one of those two get injured, ahead of Wilson (assuming Agger doesn't come back).

Thinking on, we could start Kelly at CB in the Europa League and keep Johnson at right back as he needs games to regain full fitness anyway.

it's a blow that carra's not going to be in there....but with skrtel kyriakos we should be ok - wilson and kelly good talented young back up...hopefully agger not too far away either.
