Joe Cole seems to be a bit like stevie G and things get to him easy. He is a big confidence player and he must have **** all confidence in Jowls.

Square pegs in round holes springs to mind, we don't have the style of players to play in the formation Roy sets us up in.Originally posted by souliv View PostI could not believe how **** Joe Cole was he really needs to up his game , and Pacheco on the right of midfield
, this is similar to Meirles it does not work would have liked to have seen Pacheco playing where Cole played , as for Babel please do one just not good enough.
Positives were thought Kelly was solid and Jovanic performed well and took his goal well.
Maybe instead of Ngog start with him behind Torres on Monday
Seriously Roy needs to **** off with his ultra negative tactics and sitting back and allowing them to control possession
NESV please stop this misery !!!
Good to see that Kelly had another good performance, he looks a decent prospect, just hope we don't end up with loads of injury problems and over playing him a la Insua.

How the **** can you be low on confidence when you're payed nearly 100k a week for running around a field & ****ing Cole's woman. I've no sympathy for the any of the over paid prima donnas.
Most of them need to pull their finger out. They've been playing **** for a long time and it can't all be down to Roy. They were nearly as bad last season under another manager.

Biggest problem is the utter ****e coming out of the manager's mouth.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostExcept we haven't scraped out have we? We've topped the group unbeaten with a game to spare, mainly through playing our young players and squad players.
It might have been **** to watch at times, but in pure points terms we really couldn't have qualified much better than that. We were only a Pepe howler away from nicking the game tonight too. Not that we'd have deserved it.
'incredible' if we'd won? 'delighted' with last night? ****ing embarrassing.

Agreed. It's wouldn't be 'incredible' to beat a team away that you put four past at home, and neither should you be 'delighted' with a draw when you've been a goal up, invited pressure, survived a few scares and then conceded in such a daft way.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostBiggest problem is the utter ****e coming out of the manager's mouth.

Not a bad result though, and qualifying so comfortably whilst giving young players lots of experience of European footy, particularly away games, is a good thing, surely?
I'm just a bit sick of all the abject negativity on here, and have been for a while. Half the site ought to be on suicide watch given the constant negative and depressing tone. It's like the anti-Hicks and Gillett campaign has seamlessly transferred onto our manager and some of the players, and I think that's worrying. Managers deserve time and players deserve support, that's the way I was brought up as a fan, and whilst Roy is severely testing my principles on the first one, I just cannot go along with the flow here and have to keep challenging it from time to time.

You simply cannot blame the players for the formation. Barcelone would be **** if Roy was there manager. Last night gave new meaning to the word deep. Its been piss piss poor when we let teams have the ball in their own half and wait and wait last night we defended another 20 yards inside our own half before we thought to press.
Was it because Carra wasnt playing to push us out???
Anyway, I hope Carra was sat at home watching the dog**** performanace maybe now hell know how 99% of us feel.
And Rowan, **** me, good for you to know training is having some effect, ****ing hell Anfield will have about 5000 in it in 12 months if training carries on having the 'effect' and players get more 'comfortable' with what were trying to do.
Why doesnt one of our 'esteemed' ex-players who were so quick to jump on Rafa's back come out and tell the truth instead of glossing over the obvious clear ****.
Whelan, Lawrenson, St John, Hansen and your mates, legends yes, bollocks, no.

I still can't believe that we were as reactive as we were against such a terrible team. You could see every time we went forward that they were vulnerable.
Also - Joe Cole not a striker, who knew?
The tactics were horrible. The performance pretty abject. Really it's only the fact that we have lucked out in the group that prevents it looking like as bad a showing as Northampton.
On the plus side Ecclestone looked lively when he came on and Kelly and Wilson will have benefited from a first team game and Aurelio didn't get broken as far as I saw."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

The most annoying part of all our away games this season is we make every team look like Barcelona.
If we were indeed playing in the Nou Camp every other week I would look at our points tally in the league and understand this. I would look at our 35-40% possession stats and think, that's understandable.
I would watch as we hoof the ball up field and say to myself - This is top quality opposition. They make it very difficult for us to play through them and a long ball and quick counter is the best chance we have.
However......
We are not playing Barca every other week. We are playing teams like Wigan. Stoke. Steau Bucharest (7th in the Romanian league). And that is why I am pissed off.
And I don't want to hear excuses of weakened teams. Because regardless of whether we have Gerrard and Torres in the team, or Shelvey and Pacheco - it's the same style and standard of football. And it's just not good enough.Forwards.......

I thought he was one of the few last night who looked like he was a genuine first-teamer playing with the reserves and youngsters. He's come on loads.

What’s the story with Amoo these days? I always thought these two were very similar but always thought Amoo had that little bit extra about him. Is he injured or just not rated that highly by Roy?Originally posted by dww View PostI still can't believe that we were as reactive as we were against such a terrible team.
