Frankly I think we're at the point where the players should be just ignoring everything Roy tells them at Melwood and the dressing room, and just going out and playing (especially with Roy's allies out of the team) - probably far too dumb most of them to put together a plan for each game, but its hard to argue that we wouldn't see some kind of improvement given the level of experience in the team.

Well, i'm almost, almost! resigning myself to the idea that Torres will leave us in the summer, how long can the lad wait, i mean he came here with the idea of being part of Rafa's already well underway revolution...backed by big spending new owners Tom Hicks and one George Gillett
Looking at what's happened since then... i would'nt blame him if he decided enough was enough, and that he can't wait for another new owner to re-build the lfc dynasty their way...without throwing money at top players but by doing it slowly but surely, it's enough to drive any in demand top player crazy....."look at what you could have won" is a saying that comes to mind, i'm just beginning to think he's had enough, unless something extremely drastic happens to keep him here i think we'll lose him.

Yesterday confirmed that for me. 6 months ago I thought I would never say this, but I'd take even £30m nowOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostIt's nailed on that Torres is leaving and i've accepted that.
The way he's played this season, i'm not sure that i'll be that devestated.Substance > Style

Which is ridiculous because Torres is a world class footballer playing for a pub manager and surrounded by some pub players.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostIt's nailed on that Torres is leaving and i've accepted that.

What we need to do is get Hodgson out and get a manager in that plays to the strengths of our best players.
For Rafa this season see Torres next, when he is playing somewhere else and scoring goals we'll wish he was still with usThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Roy could not motivate a sex maniac to score in a brothel, he is way out of his level so he is bringing us down to his level instead! Ingenius really for the master of the smell my farts while i face wash ! (watch the clip)Henderson, Downing, Adam, ?

It's Hodgson or Torres.
And when Torres is banging in goals for someone else next season, maybe people will start to understand why i've been having a go at NESV.
They're letting this happen. LFC is going down the toilet, top players will go - and they are basically saying "Yes, that is fine with us, carry on".
Useless clueless nobodies.

that is absolutely unforgiveable if true.Originally posted by Bender View PostJust to reiterate, as it is a quite incredibly bad record, in six seasons in English football, Hodgson has collected only 13 away victories.

Fed up of trying to be optimistic, Liverpool this season has sucked all the optimisim out and made me resent football. I can actually say a defeat irks me, but it's almost expected. I don't expect a beautifully crafted goal or a full 90 minutes of dominating a team, I just watch us with the feint hope of a decent *spell*. Gerrard can't drag us out of the mess, Carragher is past it and Torres just plain doesn't want to be there, and whilst we Lucas, Maxi and N'Gog have started to perform, there just isn't enough grit, determinaton or desire for someone to dig in.
You can tell on this very forum that people feel the same - or the majority at least - the threads are the same and can all be pigeon-holed in to 'Pack your bags Roy' and then reiterated in the match threads.
Our strong spine is gonna be gone within two seasons.

I kind of agree with you in that I desperately want Hodgson out but equally so I like the fact NESV are quiet and understated which is how it should be IMO.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostAgree with you entirely.

But, and it's a big but my view is based on the blind hope that they know he has to go but are just biding their time to bring their preferred choice in.
My real worry and conflict is that I fully support the medium and longterm approach but I am 100% convinced that if Hodgson stays for the whole season we will lose Torres and Reina and could be put back 5 or 10 years giving whoever follows him an even harder job.
I just want Hodgson gone,if that means appointing someone or a caretaker then sacking them in the summer for the 1st choice who we can't bring in now then we have to do it.
**** the 'Liverpool Way' we must act now and start chanting for Hodgson to goThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

If/when Torres and Reina go, as you say, it'll set us back maybe 5 years.
It will be a massive disaster for the club and must not be allowed to happen. NESV's passive approach is virtually pushing Nando out of the door.
I even wonder whether they're seeing a £40m transfer fee and rubbing their hands.

Top, top post fellaOriginally posted by el matador View Postroy isnt the right man for the job thats one thing we can all agree on. however, he's not being supported by our big players. torres was so bad yesterday it was laughable. he looks a completely different player and to be frank hodgson shouldnt have put him in the team yesterday. he should have started with the team that beat villa and played babel instead. in fact babel did more in the 20 mins he was on that torres did in his 90.
something has happened to pepe because he looks fat, slow and dithering. its just not like him at all. theres no way he should he beaten from 30 yards out with a low shot.
the senior players havent responded to roy so you either get rid of roy or you get rid of those two and start again. frankly it doesnt matter what carragher thinks because this is probably his last season as automatic first choice. but given how easily skrtel got unruffled by ranger yesterday maybe he'll play on until hes 40.
yet another bad performance. benitez was right in that this current squad has reached the end of its natural cycle. we need to bring in probably 7 or 8 new faces and start again. only reina, johnson, gerrard, meireles, torres and ngog should be retsined and the rest should be moved on for new blood.
we need at least one new first choice central defender, a left back, at least 2 new central midfield players including a dog of war, two new wide midfield players and another world class striker to put pressure on torres.
the squad and team need a complete overhaul

The squad/team doesnt need a 'complete overhaul' at all. That's hyperbolic in the extreme.
Get a manager who knows how to unify the players and motivate them, and then see if Torres would still look 'so bad'. Then see if Pepe would look 'fat and dithering'.
It's obvious that they have no faith in him (nobody can blame them) and when you lose faith in the manager, you're just going through the motions.
