    Dalglish

Kenny Dalglish insists that he sees no reason why any of the club's stars would want to leave Liverpool.

Pepe Reina has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside outfit, despite only signing a new six-year deal in April. Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt both signed extensions last year. Fernando Torres' contract with the Reds also has some time left, as he is tied to the Reds until 2013, yet all four players have been tipped to move on in the near future.

Despite the club's poor season to date, the legendary Scot believes that all the players are still inclined to remain loyal to their employers.

When quizzed by Sky Sports News as to whether he envisions players leaving, Dalglish said: "I wouldn't see that as a problem.

"I don't think there's anybody trying to get away.

"They've all committed themselves to the club for a long time, we were delighted when they did, and I can't see any reason why they would change their minds."

Dalglish was himself interested in managing the club before Roy Hodgson was appointed to take charge, and the former Fulham boss has hit some rough weather as a section of the fans have repeatedly aimed chants at bringing back their former manager to the hotseat.

But for his own part, the club's head of football development believes that the former Inter boss should be given more time, as the club is still in a transitional period.

"It's a transitional period for the club, Roy came in very late on in the summer, his players were away on international duty, he took a while to assess the staff, and by the time he did that he had run out of time in the transfer market," Dalglish noted.

"Through no fault of Roy Hodgson's, it is a transitional period. The takeover rightly took precedence over everything else. The club has settled down a lot more now and has some stability. Now we need to get results on the pitch.

"Roy Hodgson will decide if he needs to improve the squad. If he sees a weakness I'm sure he'll ask the owners for finance."

To be fair, he's hardly going to come out and say "Roy's doing a ****e job, he's running us into the ground". Kenny has far too much class for anything of the sort.

He could stay silent. It's clear he is backed by those that count. He'll still be here this time next year.
          Forwards.......

After hearing what the owners had to say today, I think he will be gone by the start of next season. Hopefully he'll go sooner.

You say that as though it's a good thing

Start of next season is the least acceptable thing, after him staying permanently

I initially thought he'd be here longer, so it is a good thing

They weren't exactly backing him 100% tonight. Of course, if Roy turned things around he could still end up staying, but if he did turn things around there'd be less need to sack him.

Turning things around would mean putting out a team that can win away on a regular basis.

If he hasnt done it in 35 years, he aint starting now.

Unlikely as it is, there is always a possibility he gets lucky. So I have to give my thoughts on it.

Kenny's a club man. He's not going to do anything other than give his support and rightly so. It's not his place to do that.

I think the wheels are in motion to replace Roy, but with who?

Looking at NESV's 'plan' points toward Kenny..?

                            Exactly what I thought.

You would hope so, it would be a dream come true really. Even if he is a little 'rusty' as it were, the way NESV are doing things he will get support from experienced backroom staff that they are going to start shaping and developing. Kenny is the best front man for that kinda set-up really.

He's not only a Legend but a fantastic man, nothing he says is ever trash and he has a great attitude, something that Roy fails at. Kenny Dalglish

People won't like me for this but Daglish now seems to be enjoying the gravy train too much to risk rocking the boat. He comes across as a company man now. It's just how I see it.
