Turned over at half time to watch The Apprentice and completely forgot about the match!

FFS I hope Henry and Werner do the decent thing and get rid of this gimp in the morning.

I was going to say that was as bad a match as a I've seen in a long time, unfortunately we see this dross far too often. Hodgson's style of play isn't compatable with us as a club or the players we've got. We need rid of him asap.

"When all's said and done at the end of the day, we've stormed through to the latter stages of a prestigious competition. We're unbeaten in the competition having used second string teams and if you asked me am I pleased about the way the team is developing on this European stage then the answer would certainly have to be a thoroughly resounding yes. I'm sure the owners will be delighted about our progress, as am I. If we can raise our level in the league to match that of our European performances, then we can certainly aspire to much greater things." anyone having that?

The bit in bold I agree with.

We've done very well to say we have only used a second string team. Our opponents may have not been the best, but it's good to see us come through with little trouble with our back up players. Great experience for the few young lads who got a chance too.

As for our performances in the competition, quite poor tbh. Utrecht were the better side at their ground, Napoli were the better side home and away, but for the Gerrard virtuose performance. Against Steau I don't remember much excitement. But at least we got the results we wanted.

What saddens me is that we can normally pin the blame for average league performances on tiring European ties, but on the contrary, our first team have been largely rested.

Our poor performances are why I disagree about us storming through, whilst this is sadly no longer a prestigious tournament. I'm sure I'll be up for it from QF onwards though if we're still in it.

That is the way his teams always play. Fulham played that way. Liverpool play that way. That is how we will always play under him.

We will find players better suited to his tactics. But it will never ever be attacking football.
